“New hotel and good location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 April 2013

The hotel is really new - so quite fresh rooms and overall interiors. We booked a Superior room, this one faces the Beyazit square and has got big french windows - but as we understood, Standard rooms may have very small windows with no view at all, so everything depends on what you want to get. Superior rooms have also got bathrobes, which is a pleasant addition, since there is a Spa section in the hotel. I've read some complaints for the noise from the other rooms, but we haven't faced this problem, and neither did our friends who stayed in the same hotel, another room. There is a mosque opposite, and naturally you'll hear muezzin in the morning, but similar situation will be nearly everywhere in Istanbul.

Spa is also brand new, with steam bath, sauna and pool that allows swimming (so not that small as it happens to be very often :)).

Breakfast quite extensive, with some local specialties. Smth happened one of the mornings with juices (with the concentration, so almost impossible to drink), but otherwise everything was quite nice. The restaurant is situated on the 5th floor, with the outside panoramic terrace overlooking Marmor sea.

Location is very convenient - you can either reach Sultanahmet by foot (appr. 20 min walk) or catch a tram and in two stops there you are.
Overall, quite a decent place to stay at.

Room Tip: Better book Superior or Corner rooms, to get good windows.

The location was ideal for visiting the main attractions in Sultanahmet, which are easily reached on foot. However, the tram (Beyazit) was less than 100m away. Hotel really new or newly refurbished, so everything worked in the rooms, spa, etc. Shower was particularly good/powerful. Rooms a little small, but not really an important point, as we didn't spend much time there other than sleeping; not great sound proofing inside the hotel (you can hear people in the corridors, and next-door rooms too clearly), yet the double-glazed windows totally blocked out the busy/noisy street-noise. Spa totally new, and staff were especially helpful and welcoming - I'd return purely on the strength of the people in the spa, they were great. Breakfast was a buffet, and was fine, not spectacular... but frankly, with such amazing food on offer throughout the city, it would probably be worth skipping.

Room Tip: I think that the corner rooms were bigger, and so perhaps more expensive.

Excellent location in old part of town, very close to tram station, and all tourist attractions. Hotel is very unassuming but the fixtures, fittings and general appearance in the accommodation area are extremely good. Paid for a superior room which had a perfect view of the busy street and the trams as well as the mosque which was opposite. Rooms somewhat small and you can hear the TV or other noises in the adjoining bedroom. Beds comfortable, rooms have good air conditioning, and although small bathroom with large shower, plenty of hot water Reception staff very helpful. Excellent spa , pool and gym. Breakfast on top floor with wonderful views of the Bosphorous. Plenty of choice for breakfast with a help yourself buffet. Restarant staff could be a little more friendly. 3.5 stars would have been the correct assessment

The hotel is new and is located close to Grand Bazaar, 100m away from tram station.
We stayed for 3 days in a quite large corner room on the last floor, with a nice panoramic street view. The room was very clean and the hotel personnel helpful.
The breakfast was diversified, with plenty vegetables, fruits, various sorts of cheese and local pastries.
Excelent value for money

Room Tip: Book online. Corner rooms are larger and the last floors have nice view

The fabric of the building is very good. Just a pity the management did not match up to that.
On positive side the spa was very good and quiet at the time we stayed.
The bedrooms are very small and have very little clothes storage. For an overnight stop off perhaps OK.. but we booked in for eight nights and literally lived out of our suitcases on the floor.
Problems started when I asked for some more tea bags in the room(I drink a lot of tea) only to be advised that maximum was two tea bags per room per night. !!
Our first mornings breakfast was fine with freshly cooked omlettes available as one may expect.
On subsequent mornings all the guests were being charged an extra 5 euros for an omlette. Also extra to have fresh orange juice. When the staff came to the tables to get signatures for extras all the omlettes were quickly dispatched to the bin....on principle.
The restaurant advertised on web site does not exist. They serve breakfast only.
For travellers looking for a relaxing chill out break the hotel is totally alchohol free.
We booked in for eight nights and had to request a linen change after five nights. They said it was at the discretion of the maids to choose when to change linen.
Your passport is also confiscated at reception until check out and all bills paid.
The location was nice with the Bazzar opposite but also many more hotels in this area with more welcoming attitude.

Room Tip: standard double rooms are very small....web photos DO lie.
