Stayed at Beyoglu House from the 23rd - 25th of May 2014. Its a good choice for a low-mid price range hotel. The hotel staff is extremely helpful and courteous especially Mr. Ergin. He would order fresh turkish coffee for us every morning before we left the hotel. His briefings every morning on places to visit and how to get there were also extremely helpful and much appreciated.

Try and get the rooms ending with even numbers i.e. 102,202,302 etc. They offer a view of the street below.

The hotel is within walking distance to the shopping street Istiklal Cd. So food and shops are all within a stones throw. Right next to the hotel is the bar street (Balo Sk.) which lightens up at night. Theres a bit of noise from the bars across the street, but not too much.

Sometime taxi drivers dont know where the hotel is, so either mention Balo Sok or the İstiklâl Caddesi (Street), these are more well known.

The Taksim Square and the taksim metro station are about 10-15 minutes walk, from the hotel, making travelling pretty convenient. The Galata Towers is around 15-20 minutes. Its a historical tower, and you get an amazing view of the city from the top.

Room Tip: Try and get the rooms ending with even numbers i.e. 102,202,302 etc. They offer a view of the street...

Stayed here for 4 nights on vacation. After the chaos of Ataturk Airport, we were greeted by the driver organised be hotel for the transfer (35EUR) which went smoothly. The hotel is located just off the main pedestrian mall Istiklal Caddesi and right in the nightclub district. Make no mistake the area is filthy and heaving with clubs open until the early hours of the morning. Double glazing is installed in the rooms, providing a good level of soundproofing, and with ear plugs the noise isn't too bad. Avoid the top floor rooms as the terrace is above you and breakfast preparation starts about 5am with lots of thumping and banging and people using the elevator right outside the door. Breakfast (for an extra 5EUR per person) is a plate of meats, cheeses, tomato, bread, tea or coffee - no juice. Our room was very small, but clean and well appointed. The bed was comfortable and A/C worked well. The hotel manager is very helpful on providing information and directions. Wifi is provided throughout, but I thought it to be quite slow in speed. Overall the hotel was fair value, but if I stayed in Istanbul again (which is unlikely because I actually didn't rate the city very highly) I would choose a different area.

Room Tip: The top and ground floor rooms will be noisier.

In general, we had great time in The Beyoglu House.
It has a very good location, the staff is very helpful (they gave us tea, istanbulkart, etc)

Here is what you should care about:
-on some sites its address is given wrong (Topcekenler 13 can be a good one)
-the cab drivers usually don't know where the exact location is - be prepared in advance
-on the first night we got the Sultanahmet room (401 I guess). That was terrible: stinky, extremely noisy, low ceiling (about 2 m), very small room, the only view you had was a ladder and a brick wall exactly in front of the window.
-on the next nights we moved to Istanbul room (502 if I remember correctly) - this was a whole new dimension: silent, normal ceiling, good size, looking over the street

So when booking, care about the room!

Room Tip: Istanbul room

My wife and I stayed in Beypglu house from the 3rd until the 6th of May. This establishment was a true gem of a find for us. Matt the manager is an amazing host, nothing ever being too much hassle and happy to catchup on our days activities whenever we returned. For the rate this is an absolute no brainer. If I even visit Istanbul again this will be the only place I stay and will be recommended to everyone I know. Thanks for the great time in an awesome city.

Whoever likes to be surrounded with shopping/party atmosphere this is the perfect choice.
We spent there 4 days and it is definitely the place(hotel) we'll come back again.
We didn't have only nice,art-made,cute and very clean accommodation....we also met/found a new friends...very kind and helpfull owner and very kind personal at the reception especially Mr.Mert S.

Surrounding-its just few steps far from famous Istiklal street where shopping&nightlife beginns, few meters from Taxim square, metro station and my favorite restaurant The House Cafe :)

I would ONLY not recommend this hotel for frustrated pensioners who are writing bad reviews after all as this is not accmmodation for psycho-rehab with seaview and binders for your hands and legs while you having attacks... even you can see(from the hotel terrace) many beautiful seagulls at the evening and half of (beautiful) Istanbul, this is surrounding with very kind people so it should be definitely the FIRST CHOICE for young people, couples and group of friends!

We will come back soon for sure!!!

Room Tip: I would recommend the rooms with balcony!

It is located definitely at the heart of Istanbul, by Istiklal street and not far away from Taksim square. The neighborhood is very lively, with many bars, nightclubs, restaurants... On Friday and Saturday nights, the party doesn't stops until the dawn, but during the other weekdays, the area is more calm and quiet. Concerning the B&B itself, it is definitely a great institution. The owner is a hotels' designer, so the rooms are thought in way to be at the same time cozy, relaxing, confortable and affordable. I particularly appreciated the pictures on the ceiling above the bed, illustrating the old istanbul. The rooms are cleaned and the towels are replaced daily. There is a terrace on the roof that offers a nice a view on the neighbohood and the kitchen is next to the terrace. In addition to this, the owner is a very nice and helpful person. He has been offering us tea and coffee all the stay long. Finally, if I had to assess the quality/price, I would say that it is absolutely a very good deal.

We stayed couple of nights at Beyoglu house in the beginning of October and we really enjoyed it. The room was small (ask a room from the second floor or up as the first one is a bit noisy), but very comfortable and nicely decorated. The hostel was a little bit hard to find but it is brilliantly located, just a block or two from the shopping street. The owner doesn't speak a lot of English but he was the most helpful, brought us Turkish coffee at check in and let us print our boarding passes. He even gave us an Istanbul magnet as a memory. Would stay again if went to Istanbul.
