“The waiter was terrible in the restaurant”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 April 2013

We are flight crew working for an air taxi company for a reputable holding in Turkey, and we stay in numerable hotels all around the hotel. Green park hotel looks very nice at first impression while we checked in the hotel. Rooms were clean and service people were nice at first. However, on the night of April first we sat outside at the restaurant area at a table to have a few drinks at 9:30 pm, our impression changed quickly. The table was occupied with a lot of dirty plates and napkins, and the asthray was full of cigarette butts. The waiter came to our table and asked us whether we would like to have dinner. We told him we only wanted to have a few beers. He didn't bother to come to our table again to take the dirty dishes or the full ashtray despite all our efforts to take his attention. We talked to the nice lady at the bar area inside and she attended our table for the next two hours, even though the bar area was quite far from the restaurant. The waiter in the restaurant ignored us during all that time. The lady who attended us deserved a good tip and she got it. Personelly i think the waiter's behaviour didn't fit a five star hotel and we will not stay in this hotel ever again. I regret i didn't find out the waiter's name to write hear if the hotel management would like to do something to rectify the situation, but they can easily find that out by the date and the time of the event occured. Also a side note, there was only one more table in the whole restaurant beside us in the meanwhile, so the reason for this behaviour was not he was too busy to handle the service. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone considering that the management allows a person this rude working there.

Very interesting about rate qualty/price. Room is so large and clean. Good services and restaurant of high level. Last but not least, the security service is so high (with entrance scanner). The position of the hotel is so good for industrial installaton and center of the city.

A nice hotel, a little oasis of sanity in the traffic madness of Istanbul.

It's a fair distance from Ataturk airport being deep into the Asian side of the city, but on the basis that its takes ages to get anywhere from anywhere in Istanbul, this is probanly not much of an issue.

The hotel is clean, the staff very friendly and helpful, and the food good.

The room was fine - large enough and well maintained.

The only gripe I had was on the side of the hotel I was on, there was a group of dogs that liked to argue a lot, so you if you wanted the window open you were serenaded by barking. Petty gripe, but was a bit irritating.

Other than that, would definitely go back.

Green park Bostanci is an ideal hotel for businessmen, not for tourists. The rooms are clean and spacious, the employees are very polite and speak english (which is very important, because nobody, and I mean nobody speaks English or another foreign language in Istanbul, except those who work in the tourist industry) and the food is excellent. The restaurant is pricey but recommendable, with local dishes in the menu, and the breakfast is excellent, with many local sweets (don't forget to try the "baclava" if your health allows it).You won't find a decent restaurant within miles from the hotel,so if you don't want to have your meals there you must choose another area.Any visitor of Istanbul (Constantinople is the first appellation of the city that spreads in Europe and Asia) must see Haghia Sophia, the magnificent temple that was inaugurated by Emperor Justinian in AD 537 and is definitely one of the world's greatest architectural achievements. The Bosphorus trip is also a must, but if you are travelling independently,do not use a taxi to go to these sights because they are very far away from the hotel.Instead, use a taxi to go to the sea bus pier and hop on a sea bus or ferry for Eminonu. It's much cheaper and quicker.Do the same for the trip back to the hotel. When you are at the sights' area,DO NOT HIRE A TAXI UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! The taxi drivers who operate near the tourist spots, will almost certainly rip you off! Unfortunately,I have a personal experience: I was in a hurry and I hired a taxi near Haghia Sophia.During the trip, the driver called one of his friends for "assistance" and I was forced to pay the normal fare multiplied by 10! One last remark: you will inevitably wake up at 5 am every single morning during your stay at the hotel, because there is a mosque nearby and it has a very powerful loudspeaker! The morning prayer starts at 5 am precisely. If you are a businessman, you will have an early start. If you are a tourist, you will probably have an early blast...

I have stayed quite a few time in past 2 years. Although it was convenient for me to back an forth to business place , i found this place to be convenient to go to restaurants in Kadikoy area by taxi and not far from shopping malls. Hotel staff is very friendly. Great buffet breakfast and hotel restaurant was great.

Room Tip: i highly recommend this place if you looking for value. Just make sure there is no weding party sche...

-in comparison to the room , bathroom was too small, bath tub too high to step up (i am 1,70 m height) .
-yes it is true that you'll wait the elevators
-amenities were very satisfactory
-if i have to stay once again in this hotel it will be only because of its location..

Room Tip: if you ask for upper rooms with sea view you can see the princes islands

The hotel is in the Asia side and very clean and comfortable with big rooms and clean facilities. The problem with this hotel was the constant noise from the disco on the top floor and then for two nights a wedding at the pool side that blasted music non stop till 2 am. There was no personal attention paid to you as a guest at all. The only friendly face i saw there was the bellboy called CAN (pronounced Jan) who was talkative, polite and friendly. Apart from the mentioned issues, the hotel is safe, clean and a 10 minute drive to Bagdad street where there are alot of restaurants and shopping.

Room Tip: lower floor to avoid the disco noise from the top floor.
