Arrived after a long flight with a large group. Check in was a slow process however getting up to fifth floor was far slower as the lifts (three of them) fit only two people with bags at a time.
Some rooms had undergone renovations all bathrooms seemed to have been updated recently. The beds were a little on the harder side and the noise on lower levels could be heard from late in the night to early in the morning.
Breakfast is a European mix with cheeses, olives and cold meats galore.

Stayed here for 2 days while in Istanbul...part of a tour..rooms were very nice an modern...nice size...clean...could not think of anything negative about the hotel. It is in a good area...able to walk to restaurants, shops, attractions. Staff were helpful...lots of staff hanging around in front of hotel..not sure what they were all doing though. We were all pleased with the accommodations. Would definitely recommend it.

Well located a couple of blocks from the tram line (Lelelie stop) and easy walking distance to the Grand Bazaar and the rest of the old town tourist attractions. Right across from a mosque, so if you want a great view (but with the noise of call to prayers and daytime traffic) try to get a room on the street side 301 to 308, or 401 to 408. Quieter rooms on the side street - like 310 and above. The inside rooms are dismal. Leave your swim trunks at home - the rooftop pool is 'under renovation' and seems to be 'under renovation' for years. But you can go up to the roof and get some great vistas. Breakfasts are somewhat strange - philo pastry wrapped around a piece of baloney wrapped around a piece of wiener! Ech. But lots of dried fruit and yoghurt, etc. Lots of small, funky doner restaurants very close, to the right. If you go left out of the entrance, go to the first intersection, turn left again, and find a tiny convenience store on your left, up two steps off the sidewalk, run by a lovely gentleman. You will find beer and Raki, as well as soda and soft drinks, etc. Much nicer and cheaper than the store kitty corner to the hotel.

Room Tip: third or fourth floor, facing the front - 301 to 310, or 401-410. Tipping the front desk helps in th...

This was the first and last stop on our 2 week tour of Turkey. The hotel is situated close to most of the major attractions in the old city. The Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar as well as the waterfront access to Bosphorus cruises are all within easy walking distance.
The rooms are basic but comfortable and clean. As with most Turkish rooms, top sheets are not included and the mattresses are somewhat firm. Free wifi is included.
The meal buffets are good with the usual selection of fresh cheeses, olives and vegetables prepared a hundred different ways. Don't pass up on the yogurt.
There is a large mosque directly across the street from the hotel and the final call to prayer is an eerie but sensational close to the day.

This was a good hotel for our purposes. This was our second trip to Istanbul and we wanted a hotel with a good location that would allow us to explore easily. The hotel is fairly close to public transportation and is within walking distance of a number of attractions (if you like to walk).

The rooms are quite small, but that was no problem for us. Our bed was firm and comfortable, as we like it. The A/C kept the room comfortable. I'm certainly not used to hotels that have no non-smoking rooms and the rooms have ash trays and matches. Still, ours didn't have any odor. The room was very clean.

The bathroom, also small, had a walk-in shower and a single basin. We only found two electrical outlets in the room, one in the bath and one near the desk. The room and bath lighting is quite dim--too dim. It was difficult to shave in the morning or to work at the desk because of the lighting.

There is a wall-mounted TV, maybe 30 inches, but we didn't try it.

One bright spot is that there is a strong WiFi signal everywhere, including guest rooms. There is a computer station available in the lobby but, for some reason, we were unable to connect to our email from there. The monitor is mounted on a wall and you stand next to it to use the keyboard and mouse on a shelf below the monitor.

So, this hotel satisfied our requirements very well. We enjoyed our stay.

I would actually recommend everyone to this hotel as it suits every kind of people and to whatever purpose someone visits Istanbul. I have been going to this hotel for nearly three years as I visit Istanbul like every 2 months and stay there each time one week because of my business. It has been always the first choice because of it is great location and also the friendliness of the staff and their respectful way in treating their guests which should also be mutually.
The hotel was closed due to renovations for the first 9 months of 2012 and I really had hard times in other hotels. Thanks to God that it was open in my last two trips in September and November. Now everything is even much better than before because of the renovation and it was a surprise for me when I knew that they have special room now for honeymooners as I spend my honeymoon in November and I decided to take some pictures of the room which I am going to upload them definitely.
Another thing is that the hotel is close both to Aksaray metro station and to the tram line. And also there are many restaurants and shopping places around and for its restaurant it offers different type of western and Turkish dishes and the price is reasonable.

This is the classic good and cheap hotel. It has a great location, without getting inside the maze of narrow streets. There is a beautiful pool overlooking the rooftop (and one in the basement). The room is simple compared to the other facilities, but nobody goes to Istanbul to stay in the room!
