We had a downstairs room which we loved. Lovely to eat up on the terrace with the views over the Bosphoros. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Shame the Turkish bath wasn't working.Would stay again.

The site description and the photo are misleading. The booked pre-paid room that was available upon arrival was a basement room with a tiny window whose sill is street elevation where not only you could hear every foot step, every word spoken, and every muffler, tire roll, turn outside of this window. Think paying 3+ or 4 star room rate but 1 star location/situation.
I stayed 2 nights (pre-paid) at this hotel and requested that I be moved from this room. It's a small hotel and rooms were booked. I think the rate I paid was 2.5 times the 'true' fair market value of the room (mainly because the hotel has a misleading representation of any rooms that are on the lower level - below grade - even though they call it level 1). My advice is to refuse to stay at level 1 for any rate that is higher than $65-$90 a night (the true value of the room rate ranging from low season to high season).

Room Tip: tiny room, mediocre service, terrible set up on what is called level 1 (below grade). The only rede...

This is a small hotel within a 5 minute walk to the Blue Mosque and other historical attractions of Istanbul. The hotel is very clean and new with all of the mod cons that you would expect like air con, WiFi, tv etc.

The rooms really are on the small side and the bathroom could not have been any smaller. The hotel has beautiful views from the terrace, the Bosphorus and the blue mosque can be seen but shame that we had to go all of the way to reception to order a drink as the bar was not staffed.

The only other slight negative is that the breakfast and in particular the coffee appeared to have been made from cheap ingredients.

You really can't beat it for the historical location though so well worth a visit.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, go for one of the bigger rooms and avoid the rooms next to the stairs for nois...

We enjoyed 3 nights in Almina, in May. The hotel is situated in Sultanahment, a wonderful area in Istanbul, walking distance to the main attractions in the city. From the roof top, one can see both Bosphorus and the mosques. So, the position of the hotel is very good, indeed.
We booked a triple, which is enough for 3 adults and 1 child. Beds are very comfortable and bathrooms are modern decorated. Room service every day.
The area is very quite, as the trains do not pass anymore.
Breakfast can be served inside or on the terrace. It is small but delicious, with enough choices.
Overall, a good choice for Istanbul.

Room Tip: Rooms tip: room 301 is under the room where breakfast was served, which made it a little noisy every...

I stayed here for 4 nights, solo trip, and was allocated the room (308) immediately above reception, at the front.
A pleasant enough twin bed with an oddly shaped bathroom. Adequate. The shower head had been broken and needed to be replaced, the wash basin was without a plug, the tap was loose, oh and the TV didn't work either. Quite noisy from road noises and the railway that runs past the hotel.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful, nice buffet breakfast, and the roof top terrace is worth using.
For my last night I was asked to move and was allocated a basement room with no windows at all, (it felt like a dungeon!), although all the fitting s and fixtures were fine. (I was given a free massage as compensation which was OK)
In summation for the price it was OK. It's convenient for the Blue and Hagia Sophia Mosques too.

Room Tip: Avoid the basement rooms one level down from reception on the left hand side.

Just come back from this hotel last night after a 4 day break with a BA deal. You're always unsure when you're going to a new town, with new hotels, but I like taking my chances and I am so glad I did.

I emailed the hotel before hand to ask if they could arrange a collection from the airport and true to their word they did. The driver was there, on time and the taxi (which was like a people carrier) was clean and had bottles of water for us. It was a very good value for money service as well as we were charged 25 euros for a single trip which is a lot cheaper than the taxi's at the airport were charging.

When we got to the hotel, we were greeted by a lovely lady who made us feel very welcome. She booked us in and sat us down, with a cup of cay (turkish tea) and explained all the different facilities of the hotel (Sauna & Steam Room), plus she had many leaflets about excursions we could go on, how the hotel could book and general maps of Istanbul. She explained where everything was on the map and showed us to our room. There was no hard sell from her, she was not pushing trips at us, but did recommend which ones she thought were good value for money and which weren't.

We were shown to our room (301) which was on the first floor and the back of the hotel. Great size room, dressing table, wardrobe, tv (built into the mirror), mini bar (very good prices) and twin beds. I explained we ordered a double and she was happy to change it the following day, but we decided to keep what we had. The bathroom was a nice size, built in shower and had recently been decorated. The view from the room was of the railway tracks - but who cares! You're in Istanbul to look at the sights, not to stare at the view from your hotel bedroom window! Plus there is a beautiful roof terrace on the top of the hotel which has breath taking views!

We were a bit hungry after our journey and we were recommended a local place to eat and it did the trick. Cheap and wholesome. We went for a wander and it dawned on us what an amazing location the hotel was in (if you exclude the hills) because we were near everything, Blue Mosque, Sofia, Cistern, Hippadrome, tramlines - everything...

We slept very well that night as the beds were comfy and the sheets were clean and fresh. The only downside was its still technically winter in Turkey so the heating was set to heat and not cool so the room was a little warm for us, but a quick open of the window soon resolved that, plus there wasn't that much noise from the outside.

Breakfast in the morning was a feast. Eggs, turkish sausage, salad, cake, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, bread, jam, honey, cheese straws, pancakes, tea, coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice. I defy anyone to go hungry after that lot!

It was my birthday whilst we were there and the hotel surprised me with the most amazing birthday cake, with candles and sparklers and everything - such a wonderful little touch and a great surprise.

This hotel is everything you want a little city hotel to be, and to be honest could teach the big chains a lesson in hospitality - as they were great. Staff were cheerful and friendly. The rooms were spotless and clean and recently decorated and it was an excellent location.

A wonderful trip and we will be using this little gem again.

Room Tip: Room 301 is a good twin room. Great size and a powerful hot shower after those long days walking!
