Owner description: Minaturk is just what it sounds like: a mini version of treasures found in Turkey. The park contains 105 models done in 1/25th scale, about half of them from Istanbul and the rest from Anatolia and the Ottoman territories outside of Turkey.

It is a nice attraction, especially for children; the only drawback I found is that it has too many Mosques and Graves. Otherwise, everything is very well represented. If you go, do not miss the Helicopter simulator; take the combined ticket for Istanbul and Turkey. Worth it.

Located at almost the very end of the Golden Horn you will find a park displaying more than 100 well-made replicas of Turkey's rich architectural heritage from ancient times up to the 20th century. It gives you a great overview of the most important buildings, and possible hints which original you should visit. It also shows a few constructions by Turks in places that are now outside the country’s borders. At all of the maquettes you can get a recorded explanation in different languages by touching a scanner with a small card given at the entrance. Only make sure that you get one for your language. The admission fee is 10,- TL/person.

Besides the displays you will find several opportunities to entertain children, e.g. a playground or games as well as feeding places. A highlight of the park is the helicopter flight simulation, however for an extra fee.

You can reach Miniatürk by bus lines 47, 47C, 47E or 47N from Eminönü, at the shore of the Bosphorus close to the main touristic area of te city. The stop you need to get off is ’Miniatürk’, so you will not miss it. A taxi ride from there would cost 10-15 TL. A nice alternative is the Golden Horn boat tour that is a hop-on, hop-off type. It starts at the harbour of Besiktas and will bring you also to the Rami Koc Museum and the Eyüp Sultan Camii, other attractions worth to visit.

We just arrived from a cruise starting from Istanbul and we decided to extend our vacation for 4 additional days. As per some travelers recommendation on tripadvisor, we started our Istanbul stay with a visit to Miniaturk.
The location of Miniaturk is little bit far from the old city where we stayed but by checking the metro and bus map we arrived. The park is little bit smaller then I expected but it is full of well made models. We enjoyed our visit and it can be a good place to visit if you have an empty half day to fill in your vacation. One bad thing I noticed is that some of the models need some maintenance and some of them became greenish with some herbs.
A good place to visit and I personally recommend it.

This should be the first place to go in Istanbul, if you are not sure what to do and where to go! It has miniature versions of all the attractions/buildings/museums/mosques etc. in the country.

I recommend you to go there, have a look around and identify what you like the most. There you can create your list and start visiting the real ones :)
