While in Istanbul we wanted to smoke shisha of course as we like it a lot! We asked a few people on the street and they recommended this place to us and we just loved it! It was exactly what we were looking for. Even if it is very famous, there were only a few tourists, all the other people there were local and this is what we liked the most because it made us feel that we were really part of another culture. The decoration is very traditional, the ambiance is just turkish and the staff tace good care of you. We tried the orange nargile flavour and we were not disappointed! In addition, the prices are awesome. We took one nargile and 6 glasses of tea in total and we payed 2 tl each!!! Just don't miss it! Oh and if you're staying near Haya Sofia it is a 10 minute walk from there!

If you wish to smoke a good turkish shisha and drink a fine tea in a very tipical address, you have to go here! A very small number of tourists and a lot of turkish people drinking tea, smoking parfumed shishas and chatting, seated on low chairs. Carpets hanging on the walls, open space great rooms (so with the "noise" of others as background), here you can try the atmosphere of the old times of the turkish empire.

Corlulu Ali Pasa Medresesi is just a small court yard of a mosque near Grand Bazaar.

We only happen to find this place when taking a night walk after dinner.

Majority of customers here seem to be Turkish and only a few foreigners or women can be seen.

Surely this is an interesting place to observe Turkish tradition and social manners.

Sit and enjoy tea and a nargile shisha pipe in this beautiful ancient medressa courtyard. An oasis of hassle free calm compared to the nearby grand bazaar, and an ideal stopping off point to watch locals chatting away over a pipe and watch the deft arrangement of burning charcoals with tongs. It feels like a scene unchanged for centuries.
