“Come for the fish sandwiches!”
Reviewed 27 May 2014 via mobile

Was told by a friend that the fresh fish sandwiches beside Galata bridge was a local favorite so I made my way here.

For $6 Turkish Lira you get grilled fish with lettuce and onions on a bun. It was so good I came back twice. Nearby is the New Mosque and Spice Bazaar so at least there are other things to see

“Catch old Istanbul at Eminonu Pier!”
Reviewed 25 May 2014 via mobile

This area is neally always busy and is bursting with the aura of old Istanbul. You can buy fresh fish for pennies or sit down and enjoy an ice cream as the pleasure craft chug along the Bhophorus in front of you!

“That's old İstanbul”
Reviewed 18 May 2014

In my opinion, this is one of the nicest and busiest part of old İstanbul where you can come close to any nation fm any part of Turkey and the rest of the world.Very crowded and noisy! Here you will get the smell of the fish fried&grilled on the small boats attached to the shore which will make you hungry.Do not wait, just give a try and you will like it.

“The best place to eat fresh fish for 2eur/person.”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

There are several boats at the pier and they sell bread with salad, onions and grilled and filletted mackerel. Cheap and tasty. You sit on small stools at small tables and you eat between nearly all Turkish people.

“So many people!”
Reviewed 26 April 2014

Go here on a Saturday afternoon and you'll be faced with so many people it's overwhelming. There's such a buzz on this pier with the smell of 'balik ekmek' you can't help but eat this delicious fish bread in front of the fish boats as many of the locals love to do. A 360 degree view gives you spectacular sights from the Galata Bridge across to the tower, the Golden Horn, Spice Bazaar and the new mosque and across to Asia. It's a spectacular place in the heart of Istanbul, but be sure to take it all in and sit on the steps people watching. One of my favourite past times.
