Not quit what Istanbul is renowned for this was a bit of a change from all the classic sites. The museum is cozy, easy to cover in 2 hrs, and well designed. We liked a lot the selection of local modern art pieces and some of the videos that depicted rural life in the region. There was also a fantastic photo exhibit about Istanbul modern politics in contrast with its conservative roots. The building external views are not memorable and the access from the main road could definitely use a face lift BUT take some time to enjoy the cafeteria overlooking the Bosphorus.... just mesmerizing!
