“Gorgeous Property But Far From Hagia Sophia and Other Tourist Stuff”
Reviewed 8 August 2013

We stayed at this hotel for three nights during our trip to Turkey. We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel - it is beautiful and the views of the Bosphorus are to die for!

The staff were polite and pleasant. Do note though that generally only the front desk and wait staff speak English, which was just fine but a bit surprising for a property were most guests were foreigners (judging by the folks at breakfast).

Speaking of breakfast, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that it was included in our rate, and it was excellent - a buffet with Turkish as well as "regular" items, with seating on the patio overlooking the Bosphorus (what a great way to start the day!)

The only drawback for us as tourists visiting Istanbul for the first time was that the hotel was quite far away from the attractions that we wanted to see. Now, there is plenty to do around the hotel but as first-time tourists, we wanted to see Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, etc. - all of which are in Sultanahmet neighborhood. To get to them, we needed to either take a bus to Kabatas, followed by a tram, or take a taxi. A taxi is a better deal for four people but one day we got stuck in traffic in it and it took an hour to go 2 miles - not fun when you only have a few days in a city as rich with history and attractions as Istanbul. And the traffic can be way worse than in Los Angeles (I should know)...

Bottom line - as a business hotel, this place is excellent. For tourists, I would recommend staying in Sultanahmet or if that's too pricey, just across the Galata bridge (more hotel options, yet close enough to walk or take a tram, both of which avoid traffic). Just wanted to point this out as I read the reviews noting the hotel was "central" and "good for pleasure" travelers and didn't look at the map carefully enough.

The hotel was nice, clean, friendly staff, very helpful management and primary touristic location.

One thing I found not available in the hotel was a luggage Scale, that would have been helpful during check out time, however it was not a big deal.

Room Tip: Choose rooms with See view, even partial view is good

The hotel is next to the Bosphorus, and in a location with a lot of small cafes, restaurants, bars and shops. It is about 30 mins walk to the Dolmabahce Palace.. There is also a terrace that you could have breakfast or meals with the full view of Bosphorous. Check in service was efficient, a relative good gym, sauna, steam bath, etc though there is no pool. Internet is good. Rooms are clean, good size, and comfortable. Overall staff service is good.

Room Tip: we had a deluxe double and a triple rooms - overall is spacious even for the triple room

Excellent service -polite, attentive, responsive, and knowledgable staff. Reasonably clean facilities and rooms. Convenient location -to many cafes, small shops, to rest of the Bosphorus -Besiktas, Bebek, etc. Relatively short cab rides to Taksim, Kabatas (public transportation). Cabs seem to be ready at the door 24/7. So far we stayed in two different rooms, one facing the Bosphorus, the other with side views and they were both very pleasant and (surprisingly) quiet. My wife and I had excellent time.

Room Tip: It may be worth paying extra for a room facing the Bosphorus directly. Side-view rooms are very dece...

Hotel is conveniently located on the bosphorus with beautiful views from the bar and restaurants, this however is inconsequential as the hotel restaurants and bars are completely booked out by non hotel guests. If you are looking for room service with the ambient sounds of hooting cars and traffic this hotel is for you.

Good location, close to waterfront cafes. Front desk staff is friendly.
Hotel is extremely noisy, windows are thin therefore the noise in your rooms is terrible, 24/7.
Breakfast is ok, the staff is rude and not helpfull, its a pure DIY with no service.
I reported my bad experience to the assistant manager of the hotel, i even left my business card but i have yet to hear from anyone!

Very good location; close to waterfront cafes and restaurants; but not easy to get to due to traffic especially evenings. Friendly staff. Nice health club facility but no swimming pool, which I find strange for a 5-star hotel.

Room Tip: Standard rooms seem to be bigger than business class rooms although the latter have nice balconies.
