Owner description: Let us take you on a unique Istanbul Food Tour inside our favorite neighborhoods and culinary backstreets of Istanbul. Each food tour includes food tastings from the best specialty food shops and local restaurants, as well as an off-the-beaten-path glimpse of life in Istanbul: the history, culture and architecture of our lively home. Of course, the food takes centre stage, and you definitely won’t leave hungry – but, this is so much more than just a food tour.

We had the greatest day food-touring across two continents with Latif as our guide. We went on a tour with two other international couples (who were excited and adventurous just like us), and Latif made everyone feel welcome and engaged. We wandered the streets of a few neighborhoods, taking in the sights and sounds and smells and then the TASTES. Beginning with breakfast (which was AMAZING) and then enjoying ten more stops for different meals/snacks/bites/samples, I think everyone agreed we’d never eaten so much in our lives and we were grateful for getting to try every bite. My one piece of advice for future participants is to pace yourselves (and maybe work out rally hard that morning)! If you eat too much too early on (which is hard to resist because it’s all so good), you’ll be too full to keep enjoying the many flavors still in store for you. Which is to say— you absolutely get the bang for your buck on this tour. Plus, the knowledgeable and kind guide will tell you everything and anything you want to know about Turkish food and Istanbul in general. Such a good time! Highly recommend!!

Hahaha we love the recommendation of working out pre-tour to create space for all the food - spot on! Although, we do hope that the walking mixed with the eating also helps ;) Thank you for sharing your experience of your foodie day with Latif. We hope to see you in Istanbul again sometime soon :)

We went on the Kadikoy tour with Latif. Great evening with a knowledgeable and fantastic guide. It was great to see another side of the city away from the tourist hordes. Highly recommended.

Easy to find meeting point, and then the small group took the ferry and headed to Asian Kadikoy with its lively back streets. Latif our easy going guide took us on a zigzag of flavours as we sampled ~9 different types of street food and not a kebab in sight! A very enjoyable evening and left feeling we had experienced another side to this great city.

There's so much more to Istanbul than just kebabs! Thank you for joining Latif to experience all the other yummy street foods on offer in Kadikoy. We hope we'll see you for more foodie adventures in Istanbul again sometime :)

Thanks, Latif, for a sensory journey into the heart of Turkish culinary traditions. You allowed us to bite into the multi-layered baklava that is Istanbul and taste the old traditions, the family recipes and the delicious secrets passed on from generation to generation. This is not just a food tour. It is an intimate exploration of food, family, culture and geography. It is the rare orchid used to flavor ice cream, the black, mineral-rich Çankırı salt used for pickling, the delicate flavor of goat's cheese matured in a goat skin. It is the smell of meat roasting over a wood fire and the heady aromas of dried spices.

This tour unwrapped Istanbul for us in a way that few other tours could do. At lunch time today we were turning the pages of our newly acquired Anatolian cookbook, trying to choose recipes that could help us relive those incredible moments.

Not only learning about the food, but about the city, current politics, and correct Turkish pronunciation. My partner and I had a great time. Our guide was kind enough to entertain all of our questions and if he didn't know, he found out for us.
