The location of Diva's hotel is definitely convenient especially for first time visitors who have Istanbul major monuments on the top of their to-do list, The hotel is five minutes walk from Sultan Ahmet Mosque {AKA the Blue Mosque} and Hadja Sofia. Topkapi is at a comfortable walk of some twenty minutes. From the hotel, I also walked to the Grand Bazaar and to the Egyptian Market. The breakfast in the form of a tiny buffet {at no charge} is decent. The service lacks cheerfulness, though. One major plus is the Wi-Fi being available in your room for free. A single computer is also made handy in the lobby area for the guest's use, as well at no additional charge. The Reception Desk staff can help you with organizing excursions and tours, and can even book a Hammam for you {they'll arrange for your free pick-up to and from the hammam back to the hotel}. The hotel staff that I found most welcoming and ever helpful are Mehtab {Room Attendant}, Kerim {Receptionist, Ibrahim {Bellman}.

Taxis in Istanbul use the meter (Drivers are honest, most often). From Ataturk Airport to the Diva's hotel, the trip cost will vary from US$22 to US$25. The trip back to the Airport will cost you about the same.

Currency Exchange, when I was in Istanbul Mid-May US$100 bought me 205 Turkish Liras. I noticed that the Exchange Bureau located at Ataturk Airport (Arrival Hall) applies the same exchange rate as in the City Centre. I realized that, of course, later-on when I was in the City. I could have exchanged more money at the Airport if I knew.

Enjoy your visit!

We stayed for two nights at Diva's and found the hotel charming and quaint. Located is superb, we walked to all the main attractions and never needed a cab. On the first night we were allocated a ground floor room which was terribly noisy from the reception area as well as the staff rest area just outside our window. This was not pleasant and when we pointed it out, we were moved to the first floor without any hassle.
Service was superb - we left for the airport without (forgot) my son's stroller (baby car). In a panic called the hotel and the desk clerk went out of his was to call a cab, place the stranded stroller in a cab to chase after us, call me about three times to connect me to the cab driver. In the end all ended well, thanks to the extra mile they went! For this, inspite of the room issue, i will rate the hotel high and recommend your stay.

Room Tip: Dont take a ground floor room, very noisy

Not a 4star hotel. Rooms are clean and tidy. Me and my friend arrived early in the morning and the guy at the reception told us to go have breakfast. Never happened before and it was a nice surprise. My friend had a birthday the day after and we were surprised by the fruits and drinks and the birthday sign in the room when we came back late at night. Well, not much but still a nice touch. Everyone was very polite. All in all it was a very pleasant stay, although we were out most of the time. Hotel has a perfect location - all the main sights are within close reach as well as public transportation. If you are in Istanbul for sightseeing and are not too hotel picky, you can surely stay there. Take in mind that you are in the city center and prices are quite high, but if you take a stroll you can find cheaper place to eat. Baklava and tea are an absolute must, food is very delicious.

We were staying in Diva’s Hotel for 5 nights during holiday. We booked a twin room, which was pretty large for such a busy place as the Sultanahmet district. The location is perfect and just in 10-minutes walk from metro and tram stations, the Blue Mosque, Ayasophia and Topkapi palace. The room itself was in good conditions, we did not have any problems. The hotel personnel are friendly, attentive and muli-language speaking. Service was perfect.

Diva's Hotel is in the old town area of Sultanamet in a narrow street. Short steep walk up a cobbled hill you're literally in the middle of everything; trams, shops, restaurants, a million mosques and lots more. We'd booked a room with a sea view (an absolute MUST) but it wasn't available on arrival, which was a bit pesky, but we got moved the very next morning. Our second room was rather smaller than the first, but we had an amazing view and table and chairs on a small balcony, which meant we could sit out in the late evening with a bottle of (very hard to find) wine. The breakfast was absolutely fine, nothing amazing but perfectly adequate, the tea and coffee was typically strong, but by day 2 we'd sussed out how to get it right. The quirky decor raised a few smiles but added to the charm. Great. Would hurry back.

Room Tip: Sea view absolutely essential, and take ear plugs - the calls to prayer are at 4 am and very loud...

Stayed for 4 nights in May 2014. The location is superb - some 5-7 mins walk to the Blue Mosque and 10 mins to the Hagia Sofia. 5 mins walk (downhill) from Sultanahmet station on the T1 metro line. However, as stated elsewhere, the area is a bit hilly so may not be good for those who are a little less mobile.
Rooms - quite small, cosy and traditionally furnished, were fully cleaned each day. The shower room / loo was small, though the plumbing was fine with copious hot water at all times.
Beds and pillows were amazingly comfortable, if a little on the firm side. Walls were rather thin, so noisy neighbours can be heard easily.
Breakfast was fine - good selection of fresh food, though variety did get a bit samey by the last day. Their fruits, organically grown in the courtyard, were amazing.
Staff were very friendly and always happy to help - do not be tempted by the tours on offer as they are not good value! English is spoken well.
The Istanbulkart, which allows freedom to travel the metro and tram system, can be purchased at the Airport and topped up when needed, is well recommended. An added bonus is that it can be used on the ferry to the Asia part of the city for some 2L each way - well worth the visit.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in a hotel which is a welcome change to the corporate standardness that many hotels offer.

Room Tip: Rooms that are higher up and facing the sea are worth the extra upgrade costs. It was so relaxing an...

Just back from a trip to istanbul. We stayed at the Diva's hotel for 3 nights with a 1 yr old. This establishment is listed as a 4 star. Don't expect it to be like a 4 star in the states. It is more like a B&B. The location is perfect if you plan to visit all the sites in the old city. The hotel is in a nice quiet neighborhood and has a very nice feel to the area (With kids playing football on the streets and friendly neighbors). The staff is very friendly and made our stay memorable. I especially wanted to mention Kerim and Ibrahim (The front desk staff) who went over and beyond on helping me when my camera bag was stolen. They helped translate the issue to the local police and were very supportive. I would stay here on my next visit too.
