Could not believe how quiet and peaceful this hotel is, yet only a few minutes walk from most of the major sights. The staff were wonderful, so friendly and helpful, especially Bulent (?owner/manager) who arranged a superb art historian guide for us. The breakfasts were superb and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Our room was very spacious, light and airy and spotlessly clean. Highly recommend this hotel.

I´ve stayed here for four nights in October - really a wonderful place. The staff was extremely friendly and helpfull, breakfast - great - a buffett with fruits etc.. The small - private hotel is in the center - but very calm - everything is very good reachable. The blu Mosque is just about 100 meters away. The room was very clean and nice decorated, the bathroom had even small shampoos, shower gels etc..I would definetly retourn and I can highly recommend this nice place.

We booked into one of the suits for a wedding anniversary and did not regret the choice. We wanted a friendly hotel with the personal touch, and that was exactly what we got. The hotel is located in a cobbled back street of what is the heart of the old city, and is within 5 minutes walk from the hippodrome and the start of the key heritage sites. The tram was within 5 minutes walk to then go on and visit the spice bazaar , Dommabache palace and beyond. The hotel staff were all terrific, willing to offer advice on local as well as tourist venues. We had a great stay and met some great fellow travelers. If you are looking for a hotel that is small, friendly with a personal touch, then the Garden House is perfect.

I personally loved staying at this hotel very much. Its so cosy, staff is very helpful, breakfast is great.3 minute walk from Haghia Sofia,Blue Mosque or Cisterne, but yet so peaceful!
Beyazit square and Grand Bazaar are 10 minutes away, and thats a pretty lively part in the evening so you don't have to go all the way to Taxim to have a great night! Definately take a walk to Marmara sea,its just 10 min away.

I would like to mentione about turkish hospitality before. As an Asian (Thai ) I knew that turkish people would be friendly but not as much as I seen. They all very friendly, take good care of tourists. So this little note is to evry body that who wants to go Istanbul. Ppeople will take care of you and you would be very safe.

I have been travel to many country in europe. This was my first trip to istanbul. I always pick hotels, flights' etc. on tripadvisor so I have choosen Garden House. This hotel is a small family run property 5 minutes walk to all major sights blue mosque etc. We found it to be very clean, charming. We were informed with things to do and not to do. This very important as we have not been there before.

Our room was on the 3rd floor with a view of courtyard. The room was spootless as big as we wished with many amenities such as minibar, central heating, plasma tv and very good toiletriess.

Breakfast was very good too. We were offered a welcome wine and fruite basket upon arrival that was a good touch

As soon as we arrived at hotel we've realized that somethings wasn't that great. All the first floor had been recently renovated, so, we've stayed a week with this smell of fresh paint.
When we asked to have another room our options were far away more expensive than our actual room.
I'm sure this a problem that soon will be gone, and the staff as I said is very helpful and speaks english fluently, what made us be a little patient.
The only two other thing I'd add: be careful with all suggestions: attractions, restaurants, dishes, it happens to be a trap almost everytime (a restaurant that charges too much from tourists, a dishe that is not that good yet is the more expensive at the menu); and about the hotel: be sure your room in the first floor dont have window to the street.
