My husband and I stayed at Istanbul Holiday Hotel for 6 nights in October 2013. Beware: this hotel does not live up to the photos on its website. Our room had one window that looked out into a shaft - we never saw any natural light. There was no closet, no clock, and barely enough space to open a suitcase. Walls were VERY thin - we could hear everything our neighbors did, even if they weren't being loud. One night, a couple in a neighboring room got into a huge, loud argument. We could hear the entire thing verbatim. Doors slammed and people laughed and talked in the hallways at all hours of the night.
However, the bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the bathroom was fine.
Though we were sightseeing for most of the day, we did spend a few hours in the room in the early evenings. Not having a window started to make us both a little batty - we never knew what time it was or what the weather was like.
The breakfast was a fairly traditional Turkish breakfast, with typical offerings like cucumbers, tomatoes, cheeses, and yogurt. They also had sausages and French fries in chafing dishes, however, they weren't hot...I thought this was a little strange.
Most of the staff were friendly, but some weren't. It was a mixed bag.
As other reviewers have said, the location can't be beat! But I'd...My husband and I stayed at Istanbul Holiday Hotel for 6 nights in October 2013.
