This hotel is well located -- and lacking for most everything else. Not sure how it has 3 stars. Front desk staff not helpful. Getting directions is out of the question. (Take a cab was first response -- seriously! it was walking distance.) WiFi intermittent in lobby, definitely not in rooms. Room is small, smoke-smelling, poorly lit. Overall dreary feeling. You'll definitely hear outside noises. I was truly miserable, and would absolutely not recommend this hotel.

I moved to a hotel around the corner (so same area/location)...for just a bit more. Outstanding service, no smoke, great wifi, amazing concierge, comfy sheets, soundproofing windows, WiFi in room, breakfast and appetizers. Look around -- better options are available.

Room Tip: stay elsewhere.

The location of this hotel is awesome as it is close to the Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, Cistern, Sophia and tram with many restaurants, shops, money exchanges, banks etc right outside.
Unfortunately the location is quite noisy with the combination of loud noise from outside (restaurants, construction site), inadequate (no blockout) curtains, uncomfortable beds and pillows resulting in sleepless nights. Rooms are also incredibly small with stupid layouts; if you sat on the toilet you had to pull your knees up or they'd be in the shower!
The breakfast was ok mainly because the view from the terrace in the mornings was absolutely lovely. Stayed at another hotel in the area that was much cheaper and found it to be much better value.

Convenient location walking distance to most sites in Istanbul. Also close to 2 tram stops to help get around. The room was clean and spacious enough but it is an old hotel so it is in need of a bit of an update.

To start, the hotel has an amazing location in the middle of historical area (near Topkapi, Ayasofia, Sultanahmet Mosque). It is also walking distance from the Metro Station. In addition to that, there are a lot of nice restaurants around + a mini market for your daily needs.

The hotel has very small entrance with a stair where you need to carry your luggage up upon check in (as most of the time, there is no one to help you with this). The lobby is small as well and has only the reception and a small sitting area. The only one elevator is one of the most smallest elevators ever, it can fit hardly three people.

Extraordinary small rooms where you can hardly walk or put your luggage. Although I have asked for A king size bed, however I end up with a two twin beds. The room has a view of the next building construction which is very noisy if you decide to stay at the hotel during the day.

Housekeeping is poor. Not very professional in cleaning.

Breakfast is also poor, not much items and poor refilling service. Four days with same items.

In general, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. You can get better quality in the same area with less price.

Room Tip: Avoid room 406. Call the hotel directly to get better rates over the phone.

Stayed at the Centrum for six nights on the front and back ends of a tour of eastern Turkey. It's very central and handy for all the main attractions, and just a block from the tram line. There are lots of good restaurants just steps from the front door. I found it a little noisy at night with the buzz from the restaurants and cafes in the streets below but not oppressively loud. You may want to pack some earplugs if you're a light sleeper. They have an excellent breakfast on the top floor which has very nice views of the city - both Turkish and Western breakfast choices are supplied -and the staff are very attentive. Overall the service was very good and front desk was very helpful - for example I had to get an airport shuttle at 3:00 AM and the night duty manager went and made me a cup of tea while I waited. It's a good hotel. I would stay there again...with my earplugs.

I stayed here for 2 nights as part of a tour of Turkey. The hotel was clean and functioning and quite pretty from the street and lobby. It was in a really beautiful part of old Istanbul. But the bathrooms had no ventilation so taking a shower turned the bathroom into a sauna. The curtains are not big enough to cover the windows so the light creeps in at night. The lifts were tiny and quite suspicious looking to a western traveler, but I soon discovered that this was standard for this part of he world. The breakfast and view from the breakfast room was quite nice.

Stayed here for one night in April 2014 as our tour picked us up the next day from the lobby. Quite expensive for a backpacking budget however room was clean and a good size, bathroom had all we needed and the best part was the amazing breakfast. Overall the stay was great.
