....but the room left a bit to be desired. I suppose in terms of the space available in the old town of Istanbul it wasn't bad, we didn't expect some massive room, but the first couple of nights we stayed there we were in some weird L shaped twin room that had the beds at right angles to each other and no room for suitcases.

When we returned there after touring Turkey for 3 weeks, we asked for a double room, which was much better. More spacious, but even then there was a big hole in the wall that had cardboard or something taped over it.

The rooms were clean enough, but a bit bleak. It has a lot of potential, and could improve with some TLC.

You couldn't stay in a better location, but possibly could pick a better hotel.

Realistically in Istanbul, all you do is sleep there, as we were out all day and most of the night, and its adequate to just sleep there.

The breakfast was a bit of a highlight though. A beautiful open rooftop terrace, with a good selection of food.

Good value for money if breakfast is included, but just a place to drop at night.

Room Tip: Ask not to be put in room 1A!!

A 5 day stay in the Centrum was a mixed experience. Rooms are fine, comfy beds and lovely bathrooms. Impeccably cleaned, nice aircon and good wifi. However walls are paper-thin and doors slam loudly day and night. Construction works in the building next door (concrete blocks being laid from early morning) as well as flashing lights on the hotel opposite (curtains don't block it out) meant poor sleep quality.

Some male reception staff were quite unhelpful and came across as lazy to be honest, more interested in sitting in the office or on the mezzanine level watching TV and on their mobile phones. I must complete the lady with the dark hair though who was exceptionally kind and helpful.

The restaurant on the top floor boasts outstanding views down the river, an epic way to start your day eating breakfast looking down on the city. Aya Sofya, Blue Mosque all within short walking distance.

Good choice overall but construction work was a problem and some staff need lesson in customer service!

This was our base for our g adventures trip and we stayed here at the beginning and. End of the trip. It was in a great spot for exploring the aya Sofia, grand bazaar and good bars and restaurants. Clean rooms with air con. What more could you need?

The Centrum is within walking distance of many major attractions and is close to the tram too.
Their breakfast is excellent with fresh fruit. There's a great view from the breakfast room too. The air conditioning came in handy.

Room Tip: My room overlooked the street but shutting the window blocked the noise.

We were very unimpressed. Very small dark room and very unhelpful disinterested reception staff. Very disappointing as most of the other Turkish people we've met couldn't have been more helpful. The breakfast room has a good view though.

This hotel is well located -- and lacking for most everything else. Not sure how it has 3 stars. Front desk staff not helpful. Getting directions is out of the question. (Take a cab was first response -- seriously! it was walking distance.) WiFi intermittent in lobby, definitely not in rooms. Room is small, smoke-smelling, poorly lit. Overall dreary feeling. You'll definitely hear outside noises. I was truly miserable, and would absolutely not recommend this hotel.

I moved to a hotel around the corner (so same area/location)...for just a bit more. Outstanding service, no smoke, great wifi, amazing concierge, comfy sheets, soundproofing windows, WiFi in room, breakfast and appetizers. Look around -- better options are available.

Room Tip: stay elsewhere.

The location of this hotel is awesome as it is close to the Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, Cistern, Sophia and tram with many restaurants, shops, money exchanges, banks etc right outside.
Unfortunately the location is quite noisy with the combination of loud noise from outside (restaurants, construction site), inadequate (no blockout) curtains, uncomfortable beds and pillows resulting in sleepless nights. Rooms are also incredibly small with stupid layouts; if you sat on the toilet you had to pull your knees up or they'd be in the shower!
The breakfast was ok mainly because the view from the terrace in the mornings was absolutely lovely. Stayed at another hotel in the area that was much cheaper and found it to be much better value.
