We stayed at Ada Hotel for a week in January 2014 and we were really pleased to have booked this accommodation for our stay. Everything went smoothly from booking to checkout. All our emails were answered promptly. The owners are super nice and helpful. The location is the best. You can walk to all attractions in minutes. The room was very clean and cozy for three of us. Having the hearty buffet breakfast, with a breathtaking sea view, on the rooftop was just the most wonderful way to start the day!
We will definitely stay there again and would definitely recommend Ada Hotel to anyone traveling to Istanbul.

This was our first trip to Turkey - Istanbul, and after reading excellent reviews from different websites, me and my wife decided to stay in Ada Hotel. I cannot recommend this Hotel enough. The Location is fantastic, in the area of Sultanahmet, walking distance to the Grand Bazar, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sohpia, Bosphorus boat cruise, and many other attractions. I will never forget the amazing service we was provided with, since even before i got in the hotel. The friendly staff, and the amazing host, really made our trip to Istanbul extra special. We booked a double room with Sea View and Jacuzzi, and wow ! So clean, tidy and warm. The staff always kept the room tidy and clean everyday. Also was really good after long day walking around town, come to the hotel and relax in the Jacuzzi ;) The breakfast was perfect with different options for everyone. The fact that you have it on the top floor balcony with sea view, its just amazing. And again, the staff is there all the time looking after you. We were so impressed with everything, that we really look forward to come back. Not only because we did like Istanbul, but also because we already miss everyone that looked after us in Ada Hotel. I definitely recommend this hotel for anyone travelling to Istanbul, and wants to make their stay very special. Our very special thanks to Mr Demet Sumengen ( owner/host), for looking after us so well, and helping with everything. Until next time...

Room Tip: I recommend the rooms with Sea view and Jacuzzi.

We were so impressed with Ada Hotel on our first visit to Istanbul, that we booked there again in January. Once again, we were warmly received by the owners and enjoyed a wonderful three night stay in our "home away from home". This hotel has the perfect location, with the most amazing sea view from our room as well as the breakfast rooftop terrace. The beautifully decorated rooms are comfortable, clean and neat. The buffet breakfast is superb and guests are well taken care of. We would definitely recommend Ada hotel and look forward to staying there again in future.

We received a room upgrade which moved us from a dual room setup to a single room. This was a surprise at first because the three of us wanted the privacy of the two interconnected rooms. The owner quickly gave us an additional room for free.

The price was fair and breakfast was the best we've had in Turkey. Room services are super thorough. They even put your stuff into the drawers and closets which probably not every visitor appreciates.

Thanks for the great stay!

The hotel was fantastic - I traveled to turkey by myself, and could not have been more well received. the breakfast was spectacular, rivaled only by the view from breakfast! The cleaners cleaned so well that I couldn't find my contact lens case, so the manager went out and personally bought me a new one on the spot. They really went above and beyond to make sure that I was happy and taken care of. The hotel itself is very comfortable (i recommend getting a sea-view room), well located and small enough to be very homey. The only downside - very close to several mosques, if you are a light sleeper the noise from prayer might wake you up, but i think that is true of any hotel in the city. Regardless, I would definitely recommend Ada for anyone traveling to Istanbul.

We stayed at the Ada Hotel for 2 weeks in December and it was perfect. The hotel is ideally located a short walk from Sultan Ahmed mosque and Aya Sofya, the owners and staff are extremely friendly and accommodating, the rooms and beds are very comfortable and the ones we stayed in on the 4th floor had great views of the Marmara Sea, and breakfast on the rooftop patio was a fantastic way to start each day. On top of that, the hotel is reasonably priced, has excellent free internet and there are even free international calls from the rooms as a bonus. All in all, we couldn’t have asked for more and we’ll definitely go back to Ada Hotel the next time we’re in Istanbul.

I can only echo the comments of many others – a wonderful hotel (I have spent 25 years staying in Hotels in many countries). It is run by a wife and husband with high standards, at very reasonable prices. The location is exemplary, 3 minutes from the Hippodrome and the main sights. Yes, you are woken by the call to prayer - this is a predominantly Muslim country, and we expected that: even the best double glazed windows will not prevent the now electronically amplified calls being heard all over the city.
We stayed in one of the sea view rooms (401) at the top and it was more than large enough for us – we considered the extra €10 per night over the standard tariff exceptionally reasonable (December 2012). I can’t comment on the standard-rate rooms. Emails were answered promptly and courteously, including quickly acceding to a request to extend our stay by a day, to six days.
The room was very promptly made up when we went out in the morning – it was good to be able to return around midday to recover and warm up. I have been in some other very expensive hotels where the room was not made up until late afternoon – the ‘please make up the room’ sign seemingly being an irrelevance to them.
Some have remarked that it is not a hotel, it is a B&B, to which I would say it depends on your definitions. To me it is definitely a hotel, but just look on their website – it is clear they do not have their own restaurant. Their eating recommendations to us were very satisfactory, and we used their suggestions for over half of our evening meals.
One of the nicest things we found about the ADA were the additional touches:
• Minibus collection at the airport is free for stays of more than 3 days booked through their website – a great help to us in the confusion of taxi touts just outside the airport building. Even if you do not qualify for the free transport, you can email the ADA to ask them to book you transport to the hotel, which is likely to be more reliable than a taxi driver picked at random.
• Water in the fridge is only charged at cost – no mark up. Similarly postcards, in the lobby.
• There was a very wide range of foods for breakfast – from conventional European, to Turkish, with the exhortation ‘that is nice’ when we were trying to decide what Turkish foods to have. We do breakfast early(ish!) so were there at 08.15 when they began.
• There are two ‘indoor’ areas to the roof terrace where you can have breakfast in colder weather – one smaller area has the advertised wonderful views over the Sea of Marmara, and the views of the shipping coming and going. The terrace is open all day, so you can go up there just for the views later on (and watch the activities on all the other roof terraces below!)
• Taxis/minibuses were booked for us, with advice on how much it should cost. On the one occasion we deviated from the advice, we were indeed ‘ripped off’ by a taxi driver – the taxi meter appearing to change gear at certain times, and a 20TL note mysteriously disappearing as we handed over the fare – moral – take the advice of the hotel owners (who had recommend taking the bus, but we didn’t follow it).
• We were there for New Year and our hosts gave us some New Year gifts on leaving (don’t expect this for every visit!) – but again it is an example of little things that make a significant difference.
Some specific tourist trips/events were suggested, but there was no pressure to accept the suggestions, and as we had pre-planned our itinerary, there was help given in suggesting the best ways to go about it.
No much else to say, as so many others before us have made the same positive comments. We now know why they are so highly recommended. Thank you to the owners and their staff.
