“Just Perfect”
Reviewed 10 February 2014 via mobile

We spent a weekend at Ada hotel and everything was just perfect. We arrived earlier than expected the first day and were offered breakfast. The room was so clean with free coffee and tea for two in the kitchenette. Water in the fridge costs the same as in supermarkets. Super well located, few minutes away from everything in the city. Breakfast was delicious with too many choices. The view from the terrace was breathtaking. The owner was so helpful and friendly and made our first visit to istanbul just unforgettable. I highly recommend this place!

A nice way to enter Istanbul: helpful manager arranges tours and is very friendly. Rooms are comfortable, modest. Breakfast is about a 3 star--a modest but very varied spread. A good value for families.

Very good location with five minute walk to Blue Mosque. View of Sea of Marmara from some rooms and from rooftop terrace. Price is reasonable, room clean and comfortable. Quiet with early call to prayer.

The owner was a bit indifferent, but this could be seen as an advantage in neighborhood where tourists are always trying to be sold something.

I would return to the Ada Hotel.

I stayed at this hotel over a weekend in November 2013. The hotel is more of a house that has been converted into a hotel. Checking in was like checking in with a family in a house, but it was very comfortable and they spoke good english. The location of the hotel is close to many attractions, and the proprietor was very helpful in explaining where to go as well as helping to get to the local restaurants, sights, and airport. It is walking distance to the Blue Mosque (3 minutes). I was there during the Istanbul Marathon and the hotel helped me to find a ride that would not interfere with getting out of the city during the marathon. The breakfast is wonderful daily on the roof overlooking the water. The food was quite good, and the view was breathtaking. The room was clean, with a few feet around the bed on all sides, but was adequate for a single traveler. There is a mosque quite close, so you may want earplugs to sleep in past sunrise. I would recommend this hotel for the price.

Room Tip: A room away from the mosque would be quieter.

This is the best breakfast I have in Europe hotel so far. The location is great and room is pretty and clean. The owner, Dr Dogan is very nice. He helped us solve many problems and designed a wonderful itinerary for us. If I travel Istanbul next time, Ada Hotel definitely is my first choice.

I have stayed in Ada Hotel twice, and before that with the owners Dr and Mrs Sumengen when they had a different hotel in Istanbul. I went looking for their new hotel in order to enjoy the same sense of connection and security I had experienced in their previous location. I have stayed in a number of other hotels in Istanbul but from now on this is The One for me. I will be returning tree times in 2014, as i am doing research for a new book. I find the location in their part of Sultanamet soothing and like a small village within the greater city. It is really convenient for walking to all the main historic sites and the tramways. Nothing is too much trouble for our hosts and their help is kindly offered. The food is fantastic and the breakfast unbeatable, prepared by three wonderful sisters, who also clean the hotel extremely well. All the facilities in the rooms are comfortable and work well. I know there are less expensive basement rooms for those on a tight budget, but I choose a sea view and it is fantastic. I highly recommend Ada Hotel. Dr Robyn Rowland AO
