I spent a couple of weeks at ada hotel in December for my Honeymoon, and it was great. almost everything about the hotel was more than superb, the management, the location, the rooms, the view, ie every thing. Istanbul is really a great city, to me it is the greatest, and staying in Ada made it more enjoyable. (NB it is a small boutique hotel not a huge one)
I grade each item alone as follows:
The management and Staff: 10/5 (it is not a mistake, I give it double the full mark)
Dr. Dogan, the owner and the manager of the hotel, is really a great person and he made our stay wonderful. He was greatlly helpful in every thing. Whenever we needed anything he was there to help, from things we needed for our stay in the hotel to guidance about the city, he even brought us a taxi when we needed one, and when e discovered that the cab driver tricked us he called the taxi company to bring us our money back. I want to say thanks a lot Dr. Dogan. Thank you from all my heart. I am sure you won't find a more friendly and helpful owner ever.
The hotel actually is like the house of Dr. Dogan, and he is there to help, he and his great family 24/7

The Location: 5/5 (I also wanted to give it more than the full mark but then I will be doing this to every thing making it pointless)
The location is also outstanding it is close to all you need in Istanbul. It is very close to the main attractions in Istanbul, has a sea view, and is close to the tram station. Imagine that at the end of your day you pass by hagia sofia and the blue mosque, then you end up at a room with a sea view. it is actually almost a dream came true. The only thing that some people might not like is that it is in a small street and not on the main road.
the closeness to the tram is really important to point out. Due to the closeness to the tram we were able to go to almost every where, even the places that were far from sultanahmet, where ada is located, in a really comfortable and fast way

The Room: 5/5
We stayed in Room 401. It is a room with a sea view (the view includes a historical Ottoman mosque and some Byzantium ruins) and Jacuzzi, and it couldn't be better. The room was really spacious with a huge and a comfortable bed, a large storage area, a great jacuzzi and a great bathroom and shower.
In order to understand how nice the room was, all I need is to describe how we spent our day there, We woke up at a sea view drank up a cup of tea, then we went to the breakfast terrace, then we went out, enjoyed Istanbul to it's full extent, then came back and spent some relaxing time in the jacuzzi then went to bed a slept like babies before enjoying the next day and so on. to put it short, room 401 was perfect, nothing less

The breakfast: 3.5/5 (the only thing that doesn't get the full mark)
The breakfast was great, but lacked variance. It is not a fancy hotel breakfast, it is just like home breakfast. I don't say the food was bad, on the contrary it was delicious and all what you need was there, but don\t dream of a large table with different kinds of food from all areas. and also a disadvantage is that all the days were the same. To put it short, you will like the food, but not as much as you will like everything about ada. But to make it clear, the breakfast terrace is breath-taking like that of the room and even more

Others: 5/5
Everything else was great, the high speed internet, which is free, fast and working 24 hours. I used to download a disney movie every day, I started it before I left in the morning and when I came back at night it was completed.
There was complementary tea bags and everything else was great.

Conclussion:
Istanbul to me is the greatest place to be and in Istanbul, Ada hotel is one of the best places to be, if not the best

Again, thank you Dr. Dogan and Thank you Ada

My husband and I stayed at the Ada Hotel for 8 nights this past December.
We can highly recommend the Ada for the following reasons:
1) It is small (<20 rooms), tastefully decorated, clean and cared for with pride by the owner.
2) The owner, Dr. Dogan Sumengen, works everyday and is a wonderful and helpful man. He alone will make your stay a pleasant one as he is always willing to provide helpful advise and arrange excursions and reservations.
3) The Ada is ideally located. The neighbourhood is quiet but you are less than a 10 minute walk to all major attractions. i.e the Blue Mosque is 2 blocks away
4) Our room was a suite and worth the extra cost. The windows in our room provided a spectacular view of the Marmara Sea. A jacuzzi tub was strategically located to allow you to enjoy the view after a long day of sightseeing.
5) The breakfasts had a healthy selection of choices and were served on the top floor , again with a wonderful view.
In summary we enjoyed our stay at the Ada and hope to return to sample more of Dr. Dogan's hospitality.

We picked this hotel after reading the reviews. When we got there, the positive reviews are absolutely true. We were not dissappointed at all and got what we expected. Very clean, within walking distance to major sights, metro ride, restaurants, quiet, safe area, lots of breakfast to start your day, and scenic sight at the terrace. Extra credit to the owner - Dr. Dogan Sumengen. He is just the nicest and warmest person, ready to help you with whatever request or questions you may have.
Some useful improvements to the hotel that I would recommend: 1) The in-house laptop computer is extremely slow or could have a virus. So if checking e-mails is important to you, bring your own laptop. 2) To get back to the hotel, you will need to ring the doorbell since you are not provided a front door key. Dr. Sumengen is quick to open the door with a warm smile, but I kind of feel sorry waking him up when we got back late at night.
Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay and will come back to ADA if we decide to visit Turkey again. There is so much to see and experience in Turkey.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel because we were looking for something quiet that was close to the sights that we wanted to see. The hotel was everything that we were looking for.

We had booked a standard room, which did not include a view. This was fine with us, since we were only there to sleep. And you can get a good view when you have breakfast. Because it was November, we did not need to open the windows or have the air conditioning on. Since our room only have a view of another building there wasn't any road noise.

We actually stayed here twice, at the beginning of our trip and at the end of out trip. Since we were flying in and out of Istanbul to the US.

We were upgraded to a view room on our second stay. The view was nice. Only slightly more noisy because of the occasional car but nothing I couldn't sleep thought.

This hotel was clean, very close to all the sights in SaltanAmed and the owner of the hotel was very nice. He accomodated the requests that I had given when booking this room.

This hotel was the most expensive hotel that we stayed during our trip in Turkey, but worth it.

We were a group of 11 persons (3 families with kids) just returning from a great trip of Istanbul, Turkey. We stayed at Ada Istanbul and found the hotel to be perfect for a family stay. Great views from the rooms and the rooftop where a sumptuous breakfast is served. Very friendly host in Dogan who goes out of the way to make us comfortable as well as explain the sights of Istanbul,

Location is just about perfect in a quiet area of the old city but yet within walking distance of the main attractions like Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia, Grand Bazaar + the tram station is just nearby. One can take the tram to get to modern city areas of Taksim or the cruise stations within 10-15 minutes. We loved the place and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Istanbul.
