We were in Istanbul for 3 nights with our 18 month old daugther. The location is excellent, a block and half from the Blue Masque. Breakfast is served on the roof with a marvouls view and the staff is very helpful. And also has free WiFi.

I would definitly recommend this hotel to anyone who visits Istanbul.

I found this gem on TripAdvisor and was so happy with it. The location was terrific -- a short walk to the tram, 2 minutes to the Blue Mosque. Our room (303) was huge (all except for the shower which was tiny), view of the Marmara Sea, full of light and clean. Breakfast on the roof terrace was wonderful and the view from there was awesome. The hotel personnel were helpful and friendly and yes, they really gave us presents when we left and said they'd miss us. How sweet.

We spent three wonderful nights in the Ada beginning on Oct 5, 2009. I had chosen the Ada based on Trip Advisor reviews but everything was better than we had expected. The driver was waiting for us at the airport exit as Dr. Dogan had promised and our room was ready when we arrived. Dr. Dogan had taken the time to mark all the attractions I had asked about on a map with instructions on which metro stops to use, where to eat, booked our tours - everything one could ask of a hotel. Breakfast on the roof garden is a treat we'll always remember with views worth the price of the room. We had one of the jacuzzi suites and the room was huge with a wonderful view. As if these amenities weren't enough there is free internet and free calls to the US/Canada 24/7! If you are in Istanbul to visit the attractions/sights in the old city then you couldn't be better located than the ADA, you can walk to the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern withing 5 minutes. Just a few more minutes walk and you're at the Grand Bazaar. Minutes from the metro which will get you anywhere else you want to go in Istanbul.

Our stay at the ADA was to celebrate our 20 year anniversary. The hotel is beautiful and has breakfast served on a rooftop terrace with an incredible view of the Sea af Marmara. We did spring for the room with the seaview which was quite large and had a microwave and fridge in it. The location is literally a block from the Blue Mosque and the Aya Sophia. We walked to every site in the old part of town and to the ferries to get to the other parts of the city. The hotel is next to a small mosque so you will hear the call to prayers early in the morning, though this should be considered part of the charm of being in Istanbul. The hotel is on a very quite street. The cab drivers did have a little trouble finding it because it is tucked away on a quite street.

There is a free direct phone line to the US and Canada, wireless access throughout the hotel and a computer in the lobby with a printer.

The owner goes to great lengths to help book side trips or cultural programs. He was helpful in guiding us to use public transportation rather than use expensive taxis. He booked a great cab service for us to the airport. We had to leave at 4 am to catch an early flight and the owner got up and made sure we were safely on our way.

I have never had such a pleasurable stay - ever!

The Ada Hotel is a fab hotel! Super clean rooms, comfy beds, free fast wifi, great breakfast with breathtaking views, friendly hosts. It is 1 block from the blue mosque and walking distance to all main attractions. The rooms are not massive BUT they are big enough for 2 people and VERY clean. If you are coming to Istanbul you will only use your room for sleeping and showering...the city is busy! Book online and get a free private pickup from airport (perfect after a long flight!) plus offer Dr Dogan cash and he will discount the room.

My wife and I stayed at the Ada Hotel for 5 nights during September.
The Ada is located away from the noise and bustle of the main shopping streets and as such may be a little difficult to find when first arriving in Istanbul. I would certainly recommend a private shuttle bus from the airport, something which the hotel will easily arrange for you.
On arrival at the hotel we were met by Dr Dogan, a retired chemistry professor who has run the hotel for the past 3 years. He is a most helpful gentleman. Before he showed us to our room, he got out all the maps and tourist brochures and went through them, showing us where the attractions were, and giving us advice about what to avoid etc.
The hotel has a small reception area and has the feel of a family run place which indeed it is.
Our room was a good size, with a Jacuzzi actually in the room itself. There was an en-suite with shower, which was very clean. In the room there was a mini-bar fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. The bed, a firm king-size, was the comfiest hotel bed we have slept on for many years. That really made the difference in getting a good refreshing night’s sleep!
Breakfast was superb, served from 08:30 on the terrace at the top of the hotel. There was a lovely selection to choose from to satisfy a full range of tastes.
The hotel is located close to the cultural centre of Istanbul, within easy walking of most major attractions. A 20 minute walk should allow you to easily reach the Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, the palaces and many more of the top sites.
I thoroughly recommend this hotel. You can be assured that if you have any problems at all Dr Dogan will do all he can to help, as well as give you advice on sites to see, guided tours, evenings out, the works!
As most may know, Turkey is a mainly Muslim culture, there are no pubs, and most local supermarkets don’t sell alcohol, no drunks on the streets at night. I felt safer walking around Istanbul after dark than in my home town in the UK!
A big ‘Thank You’ to Trip Advisor as well! The recommendations therein once again turned up trumps with the Hotel Ada.
One final request to all members of Trip Advisor. Please, please, please allow yourselves to be contacted so others can ask you questions. Being ‘anonymous’ is no help to anybody!
Please fell free to ask me any questions you may have...

Best Regards
Roger

It is conveniently located for all the major attractions.
The breakfast on the 5th floor balcony has excellent view of the sea and food is great.
It is a little bit awkward to have a jacuzzi outside the bathroom but it works fine after a day's walk in the city.
Close the window for the night else it can be quite noisy.
The only hotel in our 18- day Euroasia trip allows you to make free international calls.
