“A nice place in a great location for seeing the sights in the old city”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

My daughter and I stayed at the Hotel Ottoman for three nights. We were upgraded to a more superior room than we booked because of our early arrival time. We were in room 206 which was located on a corner of the building so we had windows on two sides of the room which was nice. We faced the Hagia Sophia and the street, but street noise was not a problem. The bright lights facing the building at night were a bit annoying since the blackout curtain on one of the windows was missing. The room was spacious enough for the two of us. The room decor could use an update but it was outfitted with a tea kettle and nice toiletries and bathrobes. The service was excellent throughout the hotel was excellent. Breakfast was included and there was a nice variety of offerings. We had an excellent dinner in the patio dining room one evening. Book ahead for dinner....it seems to be a popular place....for good reason. Overall, we got good value for our money and we were pleased with hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room facing the Sophia....but the higher the better for the view.

A very nice hotel, right next to Hagia Sophia and very close to most other major Istanbul attractions. Rooms very clean, comfortable, though somewhat small and crowded. We asked for a very quiet room and we got one but looking at a wall. Next day we asked to switch the room and we got a nice one but at the street level, so quite noisy. We had to switch again and this time it was perfect. The personnel was very friendly in helping us with finding the right room. The 2 Concierge ladies (Handan and Delara) were very helpful in answering all our questions and planning our Turkey sight-seeing trip from Istanbul. Breakfast very good, though somewhat monotonous. Many restaurants close-by. In all, a highly recommendable hotel, but look carefully at the room before moving in.

Room Tip: Rooms looking toward Hagia Sophia are quieter, especially on the upper floors.

We found this hotel on line and it was everything it proported to be; super convenient to all the major sites in the Sultanahmed;surprisingly quiet (on a side street without through traffic);very friendly; enjoying beautiful views of the Blue Mosque, and an excellent value.
The staff was very responsive (we changed our room on arrival to have a more private window), and spoke good English. The hotel is small and offers an generous breakfast, and an attractive restaurant.
The tram is on the next street and it is immediately adjacent to the Aya Sophia.

Room Tip: Choose a room above the ground floor and not facing the dinning room on the interior.

A lovely hotel right beside the Hagia Sofia and close to Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace. Helpful polite staff, great restaurant for lunch or dinner( but book to be on safe side), and pretty good breakfast. BUT we had booked only a standard double room, the first was dreadful and we asked to move immediately, which was arranged without question. The second was OK but small and with limited outlook (208) and we asked to be moved again the next morning. Again done with charm, and they moved the luggage for us. 104 was an acceptable room and we stayed for three more nights and regarded it as good value. We would happily stay again, but would take great care with our room selection.

Imperial Hotel is tucked away under the gaze of AyaSophia in a quite allayway, away from the hustle&bustle of the old Sultanahmet City. We had our buffet breakfast overlooking the domes of Sophia and the Blue mosque. It was a wonderful scene. I loved the taste of fresh honey combes, straight from the honey bees. Breakfast buffet was fit for all, good selection of fresh breads and fruits etc, and fresh coffee. We'll we were a little disappointed with the dinner, however, the service was excellent and the restaurant, like a glass house was perched on top of the roof overlooking the magnificent sight of Aya Sophia. The Hotel staff were incredibly helpful. The exterior and the interior of the Hotel was full of Ottoman character. It was clean and well presented. It's Location was in the heart of the city, excellent for me as I have a bit of mobility problem, so I just had to walk 20/30 meters to Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace and the Bazaar, restaruants and shops. It was a wondeful experience and I enjoyed staying there. We hope you will enjoy it too. Oh, the tram is not far either. We took a walk down to the ferry port as well.....

Room Tip: Overall the rooms are quite and hotel is in a quite location. It depends on what type of room you a...

This was a hotel booked for a Christmas surprise to see Andrea Bocelli. It was on the Asia side, and difficult to find, however the assistance given by Gamze, the concierge, was incredible. We have stayed at some great hotels, but she was by far the best concierge. No matter how many questions we asked, she was always attentive, and assisted us with transport and directions. If you do stay at the hotel, the food is fantastic. The meals are based on ancient recipes, and are like nothing you will try at home. absolutely fantastic. Only slight issue is the size of the room. Try to stay in the main building, as the further away you get from the reception, the smaller the room.

Room Tip: stay in the main building closer to reception.
