i really enjoyed my stay there, so i suggest you stay there if your are looking for a hotel near Sultanahmet. Adora hotel is located next to Gulhane tram station, the rooms are very clean and cosy. If you also find a good price, then don't hesitate to book it. The breakfast is tasteful and adequate, although it was everyday the same, but that wasn's a problem for me

We had a 4 night stay at the Adora Hotel in early June 2014. We arrived around noon and the front desk staff allowed us an early check-in, which was nice. Our first assigned standard room was #101 and it was directly above the hotel's restaurant. I believe it was karaoke night as I was unable to sleep, although it took us 14+ hours to get there earlier that day. The bathroom was a mess, with gum stuck to the wall in the shower and mold visible on the shower and bathroom grouting. Our tv remotes were not working and it took several trips back and forth by the front office rep to get it working. The mattress was very firm, which was ok and the wifi had a good signal from that room. Needless to say, we requested a room change the next morning and were told they would move our bags to a room on the 5th floor as we were going out for the day.

After returning that afternoon, we were shown room #401, which was an upgrade in size from #101. Unfortunately, there was also mold in the restroom and a tv remote was not working. We mentioned it to the front desk at breakfast the next day and they immediately tried to fix the problem, but it was still stuck on only one channel after we returned. Fortunately, it was the BBC news channel, so we decided to leave it be. The bed in this room was much worse than the bed in #101 as you could feel the springs hitting your hip or back as we settled in and also the following morning(s). I am all for giving second chances, but I cannot give a fair or better rating when experiencing problems in two rooms. The wifi was also spotty in this room as compared to #101.

I enjoyed their breakfasts with the fresh fruits/vegetables, scrambled eggs, yogurt and some kind of warm sausage/hot dog dish. There were also a variety of breads and a cookie dish with unlimited Turkish tea (our favorite), coffee and juices from a machine. If you are looking for more substance, you may be disappointed, but it was more than enough to get us started each morning; think Hampton Inn type of breakfast, if you are familiar with those.

We could definitely see the effort/hustle of the front desk reps, but they could only work with what they had and unfortunately they and we deserved a better kept property. There are too many other options in Istanbul and we did choose this particular property based on the reviews here in Trip Advisor.

Room Tip: Cannot recommend rooms #101 and #401 for problems in my review.

The Adora Hotel is located in a very central and nice area. All the major highlights are minutes away and there are lots of good restaurants in the area. The hotel is small, clean and not at all noisy, despite of their location. The staff is always very friendly and you can ask them anything.
I stayed there for six nights and have been glad about it the whole week!

The staff at this hotel is extraordinarily helpful. Don't hesitate to ask for advice. The breakfast is elaborate with a large variety of choices including many Turkish specialties. The food at the hotel resturant is delicious and authetically Turkish. Everything is cooked to order with the freshest ingrediants. The waiters make you feel comfortable and appreciated and will gladly make a special dish. The hotel attracts a friendly clientel. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and the staff will accomdate special requests. The star of the hotel is the restaurant by far. The location is around the corner from the major sites. All in all this hotel and restarurant are winners.

We've been to Adora Hotel for 4 days. It is perfectly located, only a breath away of everything, ex Agia Sofia, Blue Mosque, Galata bridge.
As it is brand new, it is perfectly clean and very well decorated. Breakfast is more than sufficient, and the personnel very helpful.
Especially yusuf and adem
Certainly we would go back!!

The Adora is a fabulous little hotel and restaurant, tucked away in a side street in a busy and bustling area with lots of colourful shops and restaurants. It’s wonderfully well located – a short stroll away from many of the major sights of old Istanbul, such as the Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. It’s also literally just around the corner from Gulhane tram stop so is very well connected to the public transport system. My room was a standard single but it contained a double bed, a wardrobe, two bedside tables, a dressing table and a television - as well as a decent ensuite bathroom. It was compact, clean and comfortable - the sort of room you might expect to find in a good quality budget hotel. There was a little bit of noise at night as sounds drifted up to my third floor room from the street and restaurant below, but some ear plugs did the trick (always advisable) and I slept soundly enough. Breakfast was standard continental buffet style and was nothing special but perfectly acceptable. Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful and I particularly liked the restaurant staff who always made guests feel welcome. The restaurant itself served good food and was always a cheerful place to return after a full day sightseeing. Getting to the hotel from the airport was fairly straightforward - follow the airport signs to the Metro (M1) and buy two tokens, one of which should be used for the journey to Zeytinburnu . Here you should use the second token to transfer to an adjacent platform for the tram (T1) travelling in the direction of Kabatas. Get off at Gulhane and follow the tramline round the bend for just a few yards before turning sharp left into a little side street where you’ll see the Adora. Allow 45 minutes. You might also like to know that the DK Eyewitness Guide to Istanbul, unusually, has a map which actually includes the name of the tiny street – Erdogan Sokagi – where the Adora is located.

On the positives:

1) LOCCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION GREAT location! Convenient to Blue Mosque, Grand Bazar, Spice Market, etc.
2) Good service
3) Clean rooms
4) Safe location
5) Good attention to detail
6) Friendly

General observations
1) Rooms are on the smaller side, but who goes to IST to spend time in their room?
2) The location is easily accessible by public transit
3) It can be hard for taxi and car service drivers to locate.

Opportunities:
1) Breakfast is not bad, just nothing to brag about. Breakfast includes breads, yogurt, cheese, bologna, eggs, a tomato sauce with bologna onions and salami, olives, coffee, tea and some cereal
