“Great Location by Too Noisy and Hot”
Reviewed 15 July 2013

What they consider air conditioning is ridiculous. The room was so hot with the windows closed that we preferred opening the balcony to listen to the noises of the tram and the people three stories below us, rather than cooking alive. The automatic flushing toilet was annoying. I mastered courtesy flushing on demand by the end of our first night. I was very grateful for the giant fan that was provided after the maintenance man told me that the a/c was working. The LCD television was tiny, which makes sense in a small room. Only three channels were in English the others (about 100) were in Turkish, Arabic, and other tongues. Just about every channel had a person dancing, singing or doing the News. Thankfully we spent little time in the room. The women working at the hotel were wonderful, especially Naz. The men were useless, barely paying attention when being addressed to. They were always on the Internet looking bored to death and annoyed that we had bothered to disturb them.

Room Tip: I would choose a room that doesn't face the tram station.

The room concept in this hotel is very interesting. Each floor has a set of rooms of different colors. I stayed at the blue room. The decoration is very amusing. The bathroom is nice and clean, however sometimes we couldn't really deal with the automatic flush of the toilet. There's an amazing little place for breakfast at the very top floor, but we didn't pay a 110 euros per night to have cucumber and fake orange juice and other crap for breakfast. Breakfast wasn't good at all to the extent that we did not go up for breakfast on the second day. The location is perfect, near the tramway and other important monuments. It's a busy district.

.. but not me! The air conditioning was not working when I arrived, and the'person who knew about it' was not at work for 48 hours. A giant fan was produced which took up most of the free space in the tiny, kitsch bedroom. The only thing going for this hotel is its convenient location in the old town....but there are many others. be warned!

Beautifully decorated hotel and rooms (we had the "rose" room - pretty small), clean, helpfull, friendly staff, excellent location , in the old city center, tramway station is just in front of the hotel, many shops and restaurants nearby (though "the Han" is poor and expensive and has poor services), nice view (Agia Sofia and Topkapi), few parking places , elevator.
Best way to reach the hotel by car is from Kennedy Cadessi as some of the small streets nearby are blocked for traffic.
Breakfast was good enough (cheese, vegetables, sausages, hard boiled eggs, some sweets) in the first 2 days and not so good in the next 2 days when staff was changed.
Room was pretty dark because one of the night lamps was missing and the A/C was turned down though it was needed in the night when it was hot and the street down below is noisy.

On a long weekend in Istanbul, I recently stayed at this hotel with a couple of friends. It's a perfect location in Old Istanbul, with easy walking distance to the Hagia Sofia, the Blue Mosque, the Grand Bazaar, etc. It is across the street from a street car station, and close to numerous cafes and restaurants.

The rooms are all themed, mostly colors. We were girlfriends travelling together, and two of us got the "pink" room, which was absolutely delightful! When doors were open for cleaning, we saw a couple of the others that looked as lovely, if not as pink (the Gold Room, the Green Room, etc.).

The staff was lovely and helpful. When I misplaced my wallet at a nearby cafe (my own fault) they called and helped me find it. They arranged our airport departure shuttle no problem, as well.

I highly recommend this hotel.

Note: The rate included breakfast, which I found to be perfectly adequate, mostly because it got me coffee before I had to interact with people. For folks expecting a full "American" breakfast, note this will be smaller with yogurt, some cheeses, hard boiled eggs, etc. Don't expect pancakes and waffles.

I'm usually satisfied with hotels but this is not a four star hotel, I would compare it with 2-3 star hotels
Pro: excellent location and funny rooms
Cons: small rooms, not very clean (stained carpets and perfume filled rooms), wifi does not work in all rooms, poor brekfast choices, unhelpful staff

The hotel is located in Sultanahmet area, it is just walking distance to the grand bazaar. We were assigned to the pink room which was very unique. The room is quite small though, the toilet is even smaller but we had no problem overall. Breakfast was good with less choices. However if you are going to travel with taxi to the other part of Istanbul you have to make sure you take the hotel's name card. It can be quite hard locating the hotel. The restaurant in the lobby is amazing with good music. Elevator is fully functioning.

Room Tip: We had no idea we could pick rooms while booking, make sure that you do as every room is simply uniq...
