This is a little gem behind Aya Sofia. It has a garden . We had a glass of red wine on two occassions. Did not try the pastries or the other items on the menu. It is a bit expensive . The wine was usd 8 per glass but well worth the price.

We happened on this lovely garden behind a pretty Ottoman mansion when we most needed a reprieve from the throngs of tourists at St. Sophia and the Blue Mosque. It was cool in early March so we sat in the conservatory, drank tea served by the gracious staff and regrouped for the next round of sightseeing. We also imagined how delightful the garden around the fountain must be in the heat of summer. Other reviewers seemed disappointed in the food, but I think the food is beside the point. If you're looking for a welcoming, elegant garden to pass some time and gather your energy, I cannot think of a nicer place.

It's also about a block from the Arasta bazaar, which is smaller, nicer and more relaxed than the Grand Bazaar and the room prices when we asked for a rate card seemed very reasonable given the boutique quality of the hotel and its unsurpassed location.

Yesil Ev looks to be a wonderful hotel (though we didn’t stay there). Their restaurant features a beautiful garden venue, but the evening we dined it poured rain, so we sat in their ‘conservatory’. Frankly, we found most Istanbul restaurants to have similar quality food, and Yesil Ev sits squarely in the middle – quite enjoyable but not knock-your-socks-off. The venue is the main draw here, but much more so for the garden than the conservatory. If you are looking for a more ‘fine dining’ ambience, then you might also consider the Armada (comparable price) or Four Seasons Hotel (more expensive) restaurants.

The garden restaurant behind the old Yesil Ev city mansion hotel is located smack in the center of old Istanbul, between Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. From hotel rooms you have excellent views of both landmarks. The garden has come somewhat down in the world and needs a landscape gardener to revive its former green glory (I was there 25 years ago). Still it is relaxed and I recommend it for coffee when resting tired tourist limbs. The food is so-so, consider this to be a cafe.

This place is really incredible, you are in between the blue mosque and the ST Sofia , with thousand tourist, noisy peoples , babies, groups, etc .. and you arrived in this restaurant, the house ( it is an hotel) is beautiful , the garden is so cool, quiet, with his fountain on the middle, really you are in a dream, you can't believe. The food is excellent, good mixt, good quantity and quality, the services is high level, nothing to complain , just I will plan to stay in the hotel because it should be very nice too.
