Duran and Erol run one of the finest restaurants in all of Istanbul. They have a way of making everyone feel at home and welcome. Personable and attentive, they bring service to a new level.

And everything we ordered was fresh, finely cooked, attractively served and delicious. Definitely try the clay pot beef....comes to the table all ablaze and when opened you are treated to some heavenly smells and even better tastes. We watched at the table next to us a beautiful sea cod, baked to perfection in a salt casing for over an hour, also flaming when it reaches your table and you are treated to quite the opening show before you sink your teeth into the tender and flavourful white fish. We also had the hummus and bread, a dish with eggplant (cannot remember the name),delicious full-bodied wine, a garden fresh Greek Salad, Raki, Turkish Coffee and Apple Tea.

Unfortunately there is a bit of construction happening on the street where the restaurant is located making arrival a bit of a challenge, but that should be completed soon. And the trek is worth it for the food, the service and the atmosphere.

We give it our highest recommendation. There was a reason we came back twice.

We visited the old ottoman restaurant during our Ramadan visit to Istanbul for Iftar. The food was amazing, the best traditional ottoman food i ever tasted in Istanbul. The portions were good, the service was great, the staff were very friendly and offered us a show while offering the plate. They played with my baby and offered us free desserts after iftar.
The prices are fair according to the terrific taste.
I highly recommend this restaurant and will sure come back on my next visit.

Excellent food and friendly staff. Menu choice very good. We had 4 different meals which were on a sharing platter with meze to start and lovely bread.
