After a terrible experience in the Istanbul airport after being delayed 3 hours in Dubrovnik, then missing our connecting flight to Washington DC, we were all tired, hungry and frustrated. The Hotel Amira highly recommended Marbella for dinner and our wonderful experience completely changed our whole day! The very friendly and accommodating staff welcomed us so warmly and attended to our every request. We sat outside on their cute open terrace with a view of the Sea of Marmara ahead and the ruins of Bourcolean Palace. We were brought olives, Turkish yogurt flavored with mint, Ezme (a traditional spicy Turkish salad of finely tomatoes and spices and warm pita bread - all so wonderful! We shared a warm traditional appetizers and then came our entrees! Everything was so delicious, but most impressive was the Pottery Kebab (wish I could post the video!) the lamb was so tender, as were vegetables in a savory sauce! Amazing!!! Wonderful baklava and Turkish tea topped off our meal. After our terrible luck at the airport, this whole experience made us all so happy! We highly recommend this gem of a place and will definitely come back to Istanbul and revisit! Thank you Marbella for making our day so much better!
