There is no warmer welcome that the one you'll get at Berk. Rooms (and beds) are comfortable, all have en suite baths, and the front room on the 4th floor (elevator -- no need to climb) has a private patio overlooking the splashy Four Seasons across the street and affords views of the bustling neighborhood of Sultanahmet, with the minarets of the Blue Mosque and Ayasofya off to left and right. Easy walk to those two monuments and the Topkapi Palace, the #1 tram line, and loads of other places you'll want to see. The other 4th-floor room has a sweeping view of the Sea of Marmara, Princes Islands, and the Asian side of Istanbul. Excellent breakfast on ground floor with a small, cozy patio out back. But most of all, wonderful conversation with the owners and other guests who come from all over the world and return to Berk whenever they can.

Room Tip: We favor the top floor for quiet, views, a feeling of privacy.

Rooms were very spacious and quite, bed was comfortable, bathroom was small but clean. The location could not be better (3 minutes walk from Blue Mosque and Aya Sofya). Owner was very pleasant, well informed and helpful. I definitely recommend this hotel.

This very good a comfortable budget accomodation. My room was not big but spacious enough for solo traveller. Free Wi-Fi is available.

Very nice terrace with wonderful views over Blue Mosque, Aya Sofya and The Golden Horn.

The hotel is familiy ran and you can always depend on nice chat and friendly advice about what to do in Istanbul.

Minibar in the room would be nice addition as well small table to sit with notebook ;-)

It's ideal place to stay in Istanbul, just 2-3 minutes by walk to Sultanahmet cami and hagia sofia museum, also very close to topkapi palace, train station, undergraund water cisterns, laleli, beyazit and grand bazar (kapali charshi). thanks a lot for very good accomodation! it was great pleasure to stay and spend an amazing time in berk guesthouse! it's far from home, but like home, true!!!owners is very good and smileface, careful family! it will be pleace where we want to stay again during next istanbul trip. regards from baku, azerbaijan! we loved you very much!!! @>--/

Room Tip: room 41 on upper floor is ideal for romantic occomodation, it's have o balcon and terrace with very nice sea view and in front of 4 seasons hotel. Also all rooms is very clean, large and comfortable as at home.

We arrived in Sultanhamet with no reservation at all, while walking the street looking for an hotel I picked this guesthouse because of the nice pictures on the door, and the family like atmosphere.
We were not disappointed.
The staff made us really feel at home, was very helpful and nice.
The room was spacious, clean, quiet (no nearby mosque) and comfortable, the price paid for that was excellent.
We can recommend this place to everyone.
The only suggestion we can give is to make breakfast available a bit earlier, as 0830 is somewhat late when you have to visit many museums.
Thank you and kind regards.
