“Good location, friendly staff”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

Located near all the highlights in the old town. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Roof top terrace very nice, with quick and good service.
Breakfast very good and the happy hour with free tea and Turkish delights is a treat.
Thanks guys!

Room Tip: If you like views and a window, ask for a upstairs room. We had a deluxe room, nice, but in the sout...

This hotel were very good located in the old parts of Istanbul. Since it was the first time in Istanbul, we wanted to visit most of the tourist sites in the old town. Everything in the old town were within walking distance from the hotel, even though it was very tiresome walking all the sometimes very steep streets. The room was a bit small, but very well cleaned and nice. Breakfast was really good with a lot of different things to choose from.
If I visit Istanbul again, this would be my first choice for my stay.

we spent 4 night there, 4 people, had 2 rooms, one twin one double. the only thing good about this hotel is location. One room was cold and humid, with only a half of window starting right from the floor. The second room did have a window, but it had a closed balcony behind it, filled with unused hotel things, so you had no anykind of view anyway. There where no hand shower in the bathroom only the shower from the ceiling, which is quite uncomfortable. Be prepareid that you will hear everything and everybody around you in the hotel during the night and day! Breakfast is so so, the same everyday and not much to choose from. I would give it max 3 stars, no more. The stuff is friendly. The cost of a taxi from the hotel to the Atatyrk Airport is about 40 Turkish Lira ( about 20€ ), so its about twice cheaper than the transfer offered by the hotel.

We were four friends coming for the 1st visit to Istanbul, booked two 25 square meters rooms. One of the rooms was big and comfortable with spacious nice bathroom, but the another, very small with a small bathroom, small flat TV screen, difficult windows' system to open/close.
The Hotel is spotlessly clean, with exceptionally kind staff, generous breakfast with variety of turkish home made delights, nice terrace on the roof with a view to the Blue Mosque, Sea and Bosphor (sunrise and sunset are nice scenes). The receptionists are kind and helpful (compliments to Katral and the waiter), the neighbourhood is safe, small restaurants, shops around, a bit hilly upfronts and down with ancient cobble pavement, not suitable for a walk in high heels.

Room Tip: Ask for the corner room on higher floors, eg. 304, standard rooms are rather smaller.

This review is a bit dated but wanted to provide input to our very successful stay in Istanbul.

Both my wife and I stayed at the Amiral Palace before our Black Sea cruise and loved it. It was just a short taxi ride to the cruise port.

Close to all the important tourist attractions, by that I mean walking distance, it was easy to zip out and explore the city, any of the many restaurants as well as a market nearby. It is in the older part of the city and provide and incredible charm to the hotel. The roof patio was not open but I used it to take several pictures, including landscapes, of the city. The staff was very helpful and went out of their way to help us.

The included breakfast with may choices of Western as well as Turkish dishes was delicious and plentiful. It was my second time in Istanbul and opted for a hotel closer to the "action" this time and that was without a doubt a very good decision. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Room Tip: I would recommend a corner room that is a bit larger.

Our family of three stayed in a corner room at the Amiral Palace Hotel for a week in April. The room was quite comfortable, and the bathroom was new, clean and highly functional. There was a closet, but no real dresser for storage. The hotel staff was delightful -- they made us feel that the hotel was our home away from home. We had told them we were vegetarians, and they identified a restaurant nearby that could accommodate us. They were excited to see us each time we returned, to hear about our day's adventures, and to address our needs. The last night we were exhausted, and they even arranged for our favorite restaurant to bring our dinner to the hotel for us. They arranged for a tour guide for us, who was fantastic. Overall, a great experience. The location is walking distance to the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and the Hagia Sophia, and to many eateries and shops. The breakfast had quite a few selections - eggs, cheeses, meats, fruit and berries, cereal, freshly made breads. I would suggest getting the corner room, even if it is just a couple, because it is more spacious than the doubles.

Room Tip: The corner rooms seemed to be the largest and most comfortable.

Room 202 of the hotel was small, clean. The bathroom was complete, but not before I saw a tub of roughly 1.20 m! In the first room chair, a small table and a fridge. There was a small flat screen TV.
The room had a window that was open, but that looked out onto a hallway with opaque windows; so there was no view. Because the door almost immediately came out in the stairwell, it was pretty noisy.
The breakfast buffet was very good with plenty of choice. It was well complemented.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is conveniently located in Istanbul, you are very fast at the sights.
