you would not know this place probably if you are not local. it is a small place hidden in Gumusuyu, Taksim but it has a cosy atmosphere and beautiful thin crust pizza, real Italian style.

Went here last night, it is easy to find. Down the side road to the right of the huge Marmara Hotel on Taksim Square about 200 metres. You find yourself in a narrow street so quiet you find it hard to believe you are near the crowds that typify Taksim.

The restaurant decor is nothing fancy, small clean and typically Italian down to the black & white photos of old movie stars of the Gable & Cagney era. Brown tiled floor, wooden tables and banquette seating for around 40 covers. Toilets were spotless and pleasant. The room is a basic rectangle with a central U shaped Bar wrapped around the throat of a porcelain fronted Pizza oven. You can see your food being prepared.

Wooden tables & chairs with typical checkerboard tablecloths of green & white. Overall though, you have a cosy and quiet place to eat in. This suits all kinds from casual romantic date, to quick snack before next place we must see. The Staff are friendly, informed, speak excellent English and do not hover but wait at a distance and arrive when needed.

I had the octopus starter which was delightful and then went for a Quattro Stagione pizza. The waiter asked did I want ingredients mixed across pizza or Italian style in 4 different sections. Apparently the locals prefer to mix. The pizza base was so light and perfect and the cheese excellent.. certainly not the cheap cheese you get in some places that has the ability to stretch from the plate to your fork even if they are 30metres apart !
The Wine menu seemed well stocked with a nice spread, this is a cheap and cheerful place so don't expect Grand Cru wines on the list. I tried a glass of House Red a Turkish wine and it was plumy and excellent.

Don't do desserts but the coffee at end of meal was sumptuous and smooth.

Overall, I'll be back again and again here. No nonsense place for a quick bite or a nice wind down to a day with great food & service at very reasonable prices.

This restaurant has a number of large cushion sofas with lounging pillows outside on the corner. Every time you go past, there are young people lounging, smoking the water pipes, or just talking. It's more alive at night, but the food is just as good during the day. The pizzas are modeled on the American style, but with very foreign ingredients. It's a good mix, and the whole place works. The service is pretty relaxed and slower, but it's a unique and tasty place.
