“Nice, Friendly Pension”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

Our family of 5 stayed here in May 2014 in two adjoining rooms. Each room had its own bath. This place is not a fancy hotel, but is clean, safe and has comfortable beds and air conditioned rooms. It is family run and the owners are very friendly. There are mulberry trees outside and they picked mulberries for us (we had never tried them before - they were great). Breakfast is served in a small, picturesque courtyard with a fountain. Location can't be beat - off the street, so very quiet, but a short 5 minute walk to the bus station and a 2 minute walk to places to eat. This place was a very pleasant surprise - we tried it based on a recommendation from a hotel that was fully booked and I would stay there again. As long as you are not expecting a chain hotel with all the effects of a chain hotel, this is a good place to stay.

I stayed three nights at this pension. The first two mornings the hot water was intermittent, going back and forth between warm and cool, never really hot but tolerable. The third morning there was no hot water at all. I met a woman at breakfast who had come in the night before, when there also was no hot water.

In the three days I was there, no one ever came in my room to change towels, empty the bathroom basket, or supply more toilet paper. After my second day, I finally had to ask the owner to empty the basket and she did. I have never stayed in any pension or hotel anywhere where no one ever came in the room for service of some kind.

The room itself was okay, except for the shower getting the bathroom floor soaking wet (no separate shower area) with no bath mat or even an old towel to use as a mat. Terribly dangerous and so ridiculous. The step down into the room from the wet bathroom floor was a perfect place to slip and fall!

The back garden is pleasant, and the breakfast was nice, with an egg, bread, fruit, vegetables, cheese, coffee and tea. The location was okay, about a 10-minute walk to town, and a five-minute walk to the bus station. The wifi did not work at all for the first two days, and only began working on the third day.

I can't recommend this pension at all. Too many drawbacks for me. Many other places in Selcuk are available.

This was such a great find and I just stumbled on in while on my way to another pension someone had recommended. There is the loveliest center courtyard garden where breakfast is served and it is just a very pleasant place to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet.

You won't find luxury here - it is a basic pension, but the warm welcome you get from the owners is priceless. Very basic, 2 single beds with a bathroom (okay just a hand held shower - but very adequate). The rooms are air conditioned and it has great internet. Breakfast is the standard Turkish breakfast with a hot boiled egg, a plate of cheeses, bread, meat, tomato, fruits, honey and coffee or tea. Just as good as any breakfast I got from other hotels in Turkey paying three times the price.

The owners are very accommodating and the young son speaks enough English for you to get your point across. I just cannot express how very comfortable they all make you feel. As a single traveler that is important to feel safe and welcomed.

The location couldn't be better, just a very short walk from the central bus station and a five minute walk from the commercial center of town. The museum is just down the block. There are parks all around and plenty of cafes, restaurants and any food vendors you could want. There is a small mini market just two or three houses up the street so it is very convenient.

Room Tip: I had the first ground floor room and it was very quiet - however I think all the rooms are quiet as...

This is a family run pensyion. It's a white house with a courtyard where the breakfast is served. Rooms are fine and clean with air-conditioning. The owners are very nice and helpful without being intrusive. The breakfast is good, with boiled eggs, ham, cheese, bread, jam and fruits. 60 TL for a double breakfast included. Don't miss it!!

We were really pleased to have found this place. We chose it because of its Lonely Planet good value recommendation and its location: very close to the otogar, museum, parks and restaurants, the services of Seljuk are only a few minutes walk away. The pension proved to be a good base from which to explore Seljuk, Ephesus and Pamukkale over a few days.
The owner/host and family were great hosts and were very helpful and obliging no matter what we required. A typical Turkish breakfast was served each morning, along with many cups of great Turkish chay Access to the internet for ongoing travel and accommodation was much appreciated.
Our room was spacious and spotless, and the bed comfortable with bedding more than adequate. The en suite however was maybe a little small and the floor and toilet got wet when we showered.

Room Tip: ongoing work at the museum can make the street side a bit noisy during the day

We tried to stay at Hotel Bella, but they were full and recommended this pension to us. We are so thankful for this now. The thing that stands out about this place is the over-the-top quality service from the family that runs this place. Two brothers alternate years living in and running this pension with their family. During our stay we were starting to run low on laundry and we asked the pension if they would wash our laundry for us. For an extremely low fee we had nice clean clothes again without sacrificing time trying to find a laundry-mat or having to pay the exorbitant rates that some places charge for a similar service.

The rooms are kind of small, but clean, and ample sized for our needs. The breakfasts were very fresh and good (standard Turkish Breakfast). The location for breakfast was nice as well, in a sort of back garden with overhanging vines.

The location is withing walking distance to Ephesus (3 kilometers), especially if you want to walk by the tomb of the seven sleepers on your way.
