We spent 4 nights at the Nilya while we explored the ruins at Ephesus and the surrounding area. From the first moment we got there, the owners went out of their way to help us by driving us to Ephesus, making suggestions, and just being very outgoing and friendly. The hotel is a delight with a beautiful courtyard where the very accommodating staff serve a delicious breakfast. The property is decorated throughout with great examples of Turkish artwork.
But the real example of the owners' character came later. We purchased a number of items at the Divan, the delightful shop at the sister property, Hotel Bella. One of the items was a hand painted camel bone jewelry box. We had it shipped and when it arrived it looked like it had a crack. When we contacted Nazmi and Erdal they immediately offered to send us a new more expensive box at no cost. When it arrived it had the same type of damage as the first. Upon investigation it turned out that U.S. Customs had damaged both boxes by cutting them with a knife when doing the customs' inspection. We shared this with Nazmi and Erdal, and to our astonishment they insisted on sending a third box at no cost to us so that we would have the keepsake of our trip. The third box arrived in perfect shape and sits proudly on display in our home.
There are no words to describe how decent and honest these two men are. If everyone in the world acted with half of their compassion it would truly be a much better place to live. Thank you Nazmi and Erdal for providing us yet another great memory of a truly great country - Turkey.

Room Tip: We like the upstairs rooms as they overlook the countryside. However all the rooms are very well ap...

We opted to stay at an in-town hotel, instead of a seaside resort which led us to choose the Nilya Hotel. The Hotel owners, Nazmir and Erdal were so friendly accommodating and helpful! The rooms were very clean, charming yet modern. And the location perfect! We dined at the sister hotel called Bella which has a lovely roof top view of Selcuk serving delicious traditional Turkish
cuisine! They even arranged our tour guide to nearby Ephesus (mehmet who was knowledgeable and friendly!) as well as transportation to Bodrum after our stay!! They made the trip to turkey perfect!!!

We booked Hotel Nilya based on the other TripAdvisor reviews you'll read below - any review that praises the hotel, rooms, decor and staff/service are completely on the money.

The rooms are just stunning - traditional decor but modern facilities such as beautiful rainhead shower!! Comfortable beds and awesome little courtyard for drinks, breakfast and chilling out.

We also had dinner at their sister hotel Bella, which was again just so good. Lots of tasty traditional food to choose from, and sitting on their rooftop terrace with a cold beer just made it.

I won't go on but to say I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else (except of course Bella). So good.

This is the sister hotel to Hotel Bella. The owners are incredibly nice and even brought us to pick up some "take-out" food on our way to the Ephesus ruins, so that we wouldn't miss the ruins closing time. Their restaurant on the rooftop of the Hotel Bella has some great food and great views. Highly recommend. One of the best hotel experiences I've ever had.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Nilya. The same two owners own Hotel Bella, just around the corner and we enjoyed eating dinner on the rooftop at Hotel Bella several times during our stay. The air-conditioned rooms are beautifully but simply decorated and all open onto a lovely patio where breakfast is served... and wine in the afternoons.
All our tourist needs were met by the owners, helping us plan excursions in the local area and arranging transportation too!
We would definitely go back!

We had 2 wonderful nights here. Host/owner is warm and welcoming. Meets with you upon arrival to orient you to town and nearby sights. We stayed in a triple bed room (#11) which we would recommend for extra room as doubles were small. Rooms are decorated with carved wood and tiles that the owner also sells in his other hotel, The Bella. Bathroom was small but adequate with wonderful shower. Beds were very hard. Breakfast is served in the lovely garden courtyard. Owner will take you to Ephesus (10 minutes away) and pick you up when done. We ate both nights in the restaurant at Hotel Bella which was great.

nice little hotel with lovely garden and nicely decorated rooms.

if anything, the rooms are a bit noisy, probably because of quite specific doors on each room. so you could hear the staff setting the garden for breakfast, as well as the garden fountain.

all in all, lovely stay in a great little town.
