“Wonderful experience!”
Reviewed 22 July 2012 via mobile

We arrived early after an overnight bus and we were immediately welcomed and given breakfast. We also had an amazing home cooked meal and spent the evening on the top level drinking red wine and raki. Fun experience!

The pension is near the bus station and the center.
The owner speaks a good english and is very kind. You will receive a welcome free glass of wine at 20.30 on the terrace so you can enjoy the sunset and the Selçuk Sightview
The room was very nice and well furnished, nice bathroom too.
Our room has a sight to the artemisis temple (just one column..ehehe)
There's air conditioning.
The wifi wasn't working. You can use a laptop they have in the breakfast terrace.
You have to pay cash, turkish lires or euros, no credit card.
Breakfast is a plate of fruits, bread with cheese or marmelade, tea or coffee and one egg.
The treatment is very familiar and the atmospheare is cozy!
The owner is so nice that allow us to have a shower after visiting Ephesus though we had already check out in the morning.

Super highly reccomended!

this is great place.. Dervish, Shaziye and Mama were helpful and hospital, the setting is quiet and convenient to all the major sights. We enjoyed wine on the terrace, meals ( breakfast and dinner ) were good, the atmosphere and ambiance made them extraordinary.

Room Tip: rooms in the guest house on upper level

This is a place to make friends, eat the most delicious home-cooked dinners, enjoy the sunset from the rooftop with a complimentary glass of wine and be treated as if you were the most special person in the world by Derviş, the loveable, charming, funny and entertaining proprietor. If you like funky-folksy decoration in your room and surroundings, this is the place for you! Our room and beds were comfy; with efficient air-condition and smooth wireless - and plenty to 'explore' on walls, shelves, cabinets - all covered with textiles and artifacts. The evening meals, served on a canopied terrace with guests seated on 'ottomans' are the most delightful social (and culinary) events - with Derviş, sure to entertain you, maybe even dance for you! We stayed four nights, wished we could have lingered a lot longer and left feeling sad but with the happy memories of a great home-away-from-home.

Nice location in Old Town, up the hill from the Otogar. Rooms were comfortable with antique and owner made decorations. We enjoyed breakfast plates filled with fruits, eggs, bread, etc. (not buffet style) and the complimentary first afternoon wine on the rooftop. We had our first night's dinner here and enjoyed the company of other guests. Dervis was very helpful in arranging our tours of Ephesus and PMD. He also booked our bus tickets to Istanbul, and gave us a ride to the Otogar, when he wasn't joking with guests.

We stayed at Homeros on the last leg our journey. Its a charming cottage-ish place located a stone's throw from the Basilica of St. John and the Selcuk bus station. You can easily get to Ephesus through a taxi (15 TL) or dolmus (2.5 TL) from there in about 15 mins.

The owner, Dervish, is a super lively and pleasant person. The place has a very home-like feel to it with the open air restaurant on the terrace serving as the living room. There are also similar common areas in the hotel where you can just lounge and have a great time with friends. The rooms have a rustic charm but are functional as well.

Didn't have a chance to eat here but it did smell delicious when we went there once during the day. There are no public transport options to the airport for flights before 8:30 AM so make sure you have that sorted out. We had to shell out 100 TL for a taxi drop (not very expensive though considering the Izmir airport is a good 70 kms).

We stayed here two nights with our three kids. Just as described in reviews here, the pension is very unique and eclectic. There are lots and lots of decorations in the rooms. Some have commented that it's too cluttered, but for us it was charming (although a little harder to keep track of your things!). Having just come from some very basic and standard accomodations, I really liked this unique atmoshpere.

The rooms had air conditioning and both of our rooms had their own bathrooms. The owner welcomed the guests to the rooftop to watch the sun set and drink a glass of wine. It was just lovely. The breakfast in the morning is a boiled egg, fruit, vegetables and tea/coffee. They offered dinner, but with 3 kids, we decided to eat out.

Also, we had planned to drive to Ephesus, which is very close. However, they gave us a ride to the beginning and then picked us up at the end. Very convenient! If we had driven, we would have had to pay to park and then walked all the way back to the beginning to get our car. Too hot for that.
