Urkmez is a short walk from the bus station but located in a pedestrian district with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby.

The rooftop terrace has a view of the castle and breakfast was delicious.

Service is very friendly and helpful.

The rooms are bright and comfortable. You get a bit of noise from the internal marble staircase but nothing too bad.

Our group of 16 travelled through Italy, Greece and Turkey, but the brothers at Urkmez Hotel in Selcuk made this our favourite accommodation. They made us feel like family and out their way to help us. The hotel was delightful and the meals superb. Every one of our group wants to return to this hotel.

We found this hotel to be very clean, comfortable, and quiet. From the moment we walked in to the moment we left, the reception staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and breakfast was delightful.

As with other trip adviser reviewers we found JuJu and the team very friendly and most helpful - even giving us a ride to the bus station on his way home.

Room was cheerful and all that we needed as well as being good value.

Selcuk is a great town to stay in - great village atmosphere and good food too.

Clean, convenient, friendly and excellent value. What a wonderful little hotel in the heart of Selcuk. Had a nice room with a balcony and view of the caste. The room was nice size, the bathroom was clean and functional, although a bit tricky to regulate the hot water. This is a solar heated system. This is not a luxury hotel, but a real "local" type. The staff/owners were genuinely friendly. This is how it should be! I recommend this little gem to all who pass through this wonderful little town. Selcuk proved to be a wonderful respite from hustle of Istanbul. We easily visited Ephesus on our own by taxi, which dropped us at the top of the archeological site and picked us up 3 hours later at the bottom of the site. If you are in Selcuk on Saturday, by all means visit the outstanding market-what a colorful and bountiful place. Selcuk is much cheaper than Istanbul also. Stay at the Urkmez, and Enjoy!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a agony facing the caste!

Located centrally in Selcuk, the Urkmez is a gem. From the time you enter the staff Juju, Savvy and Jimmy embrace you like honored guests, a feeling you never lose. Nothing appears too hard for them from advice about local tours, Ephesus, eating, buses, taxis and general chit chat. They can even advise about other places in Turkey!

The rooms are decent sized, but not large, and are presented very clean and tidy. We imagined being in one of the man malls in the central town there would be a bit of noise, however we heard nothing and had the best two sleeps we have had for ages. Breakfast on the homely rooftop terrace was a simple buffet style sufficient to start the day.

Could not fnd a fault with the Urkmez and would highly recommend it.

And Juju and Jimmy have a part ownership in the Cabaret restaurant around the corner which serves excellent and very well priced menu. Amongst a large selection of others!

Room Tip: I really don't think it matters. We had a balcony room, but we're too busy to use it. Selc...

We just returned from a few days at the Urkmez Hotel in Selcuk and want to eagerly recommend it. One of the staff met us on a street corner when we arrived and were lost, which turned out to be typical of the great service and friendliness we experienced here. The hotel is charming, our triple room a little small but adequate. It is very comfortable, immaculately clean, attractively decorated-- and best of all, there is a wonderful breakfast on their rooftop patio. You can also sip a glass of wine there in the evenings, while soft music plays....The location is wonderful, easy walks to good restaurants and shops. They have recently opened their own restaurant around the corner from the hotel, where we had an excellent meal, also a highly recommended stop. There is a fabulous Turkish Bath/Hammam down the street. This hotel -- and the folks who run it -- could not have been better! They are building a new, more luxurious hotel in the neighborhood, which we will certainly consider the next time -- but we were completely happy with the Urkmez as is!

Room Tip: There is no lift, so be sure and mention if you need a first floor room, as we did. Still, the hike...
