We had a wonderful three-night stay at the Hotel Bella March 2014. The hotel has an excellent location in Selcuk, an easy walk to the train and bus stations and close to the major sites in the area. The staff was quite helpful in all regards. We would recommend the Hotel Bella to others.

This is my second stay there and a place I've recommended to others. We all agree there is no better place to stay in Selcuk. Owners Erdal and Nazmi, as well as the whole staff, could not be warmer or more accommodating. The location is perfect: right across from St. John's Basilica and a five minute walk into the center of town. The Ephesus site is walk able, but the hotel staff will drop and pick you up for free. The rooms are small, but clean, attractive and comfortable. The roof top restaurant is sunny in the day and cosy and night, with a fire in cool weather. And in fair weather, the rooftop terrace is delightful. Both inside and out you have views of the castle and nesting storks. Nazmi was incedibly helpful in negotiating a car rental and planning an itinerary for our friends who were taking a 8 day road trip along the coast from Selcuk.
In response to the criticism that there was pressure to buy: I didn't feel pressure. The first time I stayed we did not buy, and I felt no chill about that. This time we did, but not because of any pressure.

This hotel is wonderfully located in central Selcuk, across the street from the St. John Basilica and close to the Isa Bey Mosque. Even more important, the service is truly wonderful from the moment of booking until you leave. Some of the rooms are honestly quite small, but manageable (or upgrade to a triple with a balcony (#12 has a charming little balcony) for not much more). Yes, they own a carpet/ceramics/jewellery store attached to the hotel, but if you're not interested, just say so, though we found it totally worth looking through, and got an interesting history lesson on Turkish weaving, with little pressure to buy. Would absolutely stay there again, and highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a balcony (#12 is great).

The hotel is in a great location. The rooms and common areas are very well appointed. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The breakfast is outstanding. Dinners are ok but better food and value are available elsewhere-we highly recommend Ejder Restaurant a couple of blocks away.
The downside is that the owners apply subtle (or not so subtle) pressure to purchase rugs and ceramics from their onsite shop (we noticed a distinct chill after we made it clear that we were not interested in purchasing a rug from them). Better alternative sources for rugs are: Eastern Anatolia Nomadic Art Gallery and Lilys Authentic Art Carpets and Textiles Shop--both are a short walk from the hotel.
Also, we wanted to visit Hierapolis & Pamukkale and they indicated that the only way to get there was an expensive tour that included stops at trinket shops and a poor lunch--afterwards we found that regular and inexpensive bus trips area available at the bus a block away.
We would recommend this hotel for lodging but suggest you eat dinner and shop elsewhere.

Room Tip: Do not stay next to the rooms with three beds. We had very noisy families next to us for two nights...

My husband and I stayed here for one night on our 10 day tour of Turkey. We had a rental car, and were able to park on the street directly across from the hotel. The interior of the hotel, especially the rooms and roof terrace, have absolutely gorgeous woodwork and handpainted tiles (which I assume came from the shop attached to the hotel). The hotel offered to shuttle us to the ruins at Ephesus for free, but we had already arranged to be picked up at the hotel by a guide. The hotel is across the street from the Basilica of St. John and right down the street from the Isa Bey Mosque as well. Overall, we were very pleased with the hotel, and would definitely recommend it to fellow travelers.

Having visited Ephesus over. 26 years ago my wife and I decided to re visit to see the changes and decided to stay for 2 nights at Bella in Selcuk on friends recommendation. We were not disappointed and Erdal and Nezmi and their staff we perfect hosts. As mentioned by other guests, the owners arrange free transfers to Ephesus and great advice on other locations. Roof top restaurant is great providing a very nice breakfast, all day tea and coffee and very reasonably priced dinners. I cannot agree with other guests about the high pressure carpet etc selling. This did not happen and are whole stay was very pleasant. Make sure you book a room with 'stork nest views'

Very welcoming frienly staff, who also arrange free shuttles to the Ephesus archeological site to suit your preferences.

Especially nice is the rooftop terrance restuarant bar, which is also where breakfast is served. The full set dinner menu is excellent value.

Room Tip: Best rooms on the second floor.
