A friend and I spent several days at the Nazar Hotel. The manager spoke excellent English (with an American accent) and was charming and helpful. Breakfast and dinners were of very high quality and it was a delight to sit on the terrace and view the grand fortress of night. The rooms were large and clean. Although there was no lift, the manager carried our suitcases to the rooms which saved a lot of exertion on our part. The hotel is centrally located which enabled us to visit the remains of the Roman aqueduct. An excellent place to stay in Selcuk.

Very nice hotel within walking distance of the town center, restaurants, the aqueduct, and the basilica. It is also a short taxi drive from Ephesus - ask the staff to call one for you to ensure you pay a reasonable price. The rooms were large and colourful and the washrooms were clean with larger showers. Part of the charm of this hotel is its location in a residential area. You can see tractors and bicycles parked on the street, children walking from school, and men playing dominos and drinking tea just around the corner. IIker picked us up at the airport, even though our flight was after midnight, and gave us a warm welcome to the area. We were also able to book a tour to Pamukkale through the hotel. This was our last stop in Turkey before we continued our backpacking adventure and it was the perfect relaxing finale to our vacation. Thank you.

We spent a week here in early October. The location was perfect, the hotel was comfortable , quiet and clean, the meals were excellent and the atmosphere was extremely friendly. The host speaks good English and gave us very good advice and help. In addition it was lovely having our breakfasts on the terrace with great views to the Fort and across the town. Although it was a bit chilly I enjoyed several swims in the pool and the patio is very restful. Altogether we were delighted with this family run hotel.

We've spend 3 nights here and everything was perfect for a very good price.

The location is very good, the breakfast was excellent, there is a nice swimming pool and free wifi.

The owner is fantastic, super friendly and more than helpful to give you all the best advises for your trip in the area and in Turkey.

Do not waste time to find another place to stay in Selcuk !

Three nights mid October in the pleasant, down-to-earth town of Selcuk were made by our stay at Hotel Nazar. To echo other reviews, the keys to its success are: its location within easy walking distance of the local sights, its clean and comfortable rooms, its roof terrace (the perfect spot to enjoy breakfast or a evening meal while savouring the view of the Byzantine fortress, rooftops, minaret etc.), Boncuk the irresistibly likeable family dog, its pool (even in October...) and Ilker Sen the friendly and knowledgeable owner. Ilker collected us from the airport at Izmir, pointed us towards local highlights, provided us with great tips for Istanbul, arranged a day trip to more distant attractions, took us to a fantastic lunch spot in the hills nearby and consistently made us feel welcome and completely at home. All with humour and charm. The food here is great, the place is minutes away from Ephesus by taxi, the value is excellent and we would go back in a second.

We spent two nights at Hotel Nazar while visiting the Ephesus and surrounding sights on a independent driving tour of Turkey. The central location was perfect with easy access to the town. Ilker Sen, the owner, spoke perfect English, provided recommendations and directions to area attractions. He even drove us to the entry of Ephesus and returned to pick us up at the exit a few hours later. He also drove us to the starting point of a walking tour of Selcuk the first afternoon were were there. He, and his staff could not have been more helpful.

The rooms were spotless and nicely appointed and the pool area relaxing. Breakfast was excellent, (eggs cooked to order) and a multi-course dinner for 10 euros was excellent. Food was prepared by his French mother-in-law.

The hotel has a direct from the US phone number listed on their website you can call for reservations and travel information. Ilker Sen, the owner, was a travel agent.

We spent four nights at Hotel Nazar in September, 2013. Selcuk was our base for visiting Ephesus and the surrounding sites. Ilker, the owner, is in my opinion what makes this hotel a real value. He is very knowledgeable and will offer great information and advice as he worked in the travel industry before purchasing the hotel. The hotel is more like staying at someone's big house; everyone involved with hotel could not have been nicer.

We ate dinner twice which was delicious both times and I would highly recommend it. Breakfast was good in the mornings too - there was always plenty of everything.

On our last day Ilker suggested we visit Aphrodisias and Pamukkale - both were fabulous and places we would have missed if not for him. He was even so kind as to spend the day with us and drive us in his car.

He truly cares about his guests and wants them to have a great experience while there. His English is exceptional - his hotel is clean, centrally located and the perfect place to stay while visiting this part of Turkey.

We loved Turkey and hope to return again soon.
