My wife & I stayed at Selcuk June 13-14, 2014 as part of our 17-day trip through Croatia, Greece & Turkey. We actually stayed at a different hotel while we were there but our shuttle driver had dropped us off a few blocks away and we got lost on our way back our first night. Luckily we ran into Aydin and he pointed us in the right direction. He then offered to show us around his new hotel and check out the beautiful rooms and even use the pool. The rooms and the entire design of the property was gorgeous. Aydin is an architect and designed everything himself and the attention to detail certainly shows. I wished we had known about his hotel prior to our arrival because we definitely would have stayed there. Aydin even invited us back for a private dinner later that evening.

My wife and I came back later that night a little after 8 PM and the kitchen was not open because he had told me to call him in advance if we wanted some lamb because it would take some time to prepare everything. Was that a problem? Absolutely not. We just walked in and asked what they could make and they said they would put something together just for us. Since we gave them no notice we were not expecting much but since Aydin was so nice we thought we would give it a shot. I'm very glad we did as it turned out to be the best evening of our entire trip!

The sun was starting to go down and they set up a table in front of the pool on the balcony with an amazing view. They brought out an appetizer, and then another, and another and before we knew it there was probably 8 plates of food for the two of us and we had not even gotten to the main dish yet! He never told us how much everything would cost and we were initially a little worried because there was so much food but after a while we didn't care because everything was just so amazing (As it turned out the meal was very reasonably priced so that was not a concern either). We also had a bottle of red wine included that was excellent as well as an amazing desert too. I didn't want to leave but we had to get up early the next morning for our tour to Pamukkale so we had to finally leave. Aydin and his fiancé Sarah had even offered to stay late and drink some more wine with them which we were disappointed not to accept because it was such a perfect night.

We made some new friends the next day on our day trips and invited them to have dinner with us on June 14th at Aydin's hotel restaurant. We told them how amazing it was and that they had to join us. We stopped by and told them we wanted to have dinner for the four of us that night if possible and they graciously set up two tables for us by the pool. I was hoping the meal would be at least half as good as the previous night and they did not disappoint!

We had lamb as our main dish that night along with an unlimited number of appetizers it seemed. They just kept bringing more and more amazing dishes one after another. There was one particular seaweed veggie dish from the previous night we loved but they were not preparing this night. We just mentioned how much we loved it and then in a few minutes out came our favorite dish again! I have traveled all over the world the last 3 years and have had some great food and customer service but nothing compared to our experience with Aydin and Sarah at Ayasoluk Hotel. Needless to say our friends were very happy that we invited them to join us for such a lovely dinner. They kept thanking us over and over again.

When we got home that night I was telling my wife that I don't understand why more places don't put such an emphasis on customer service like this. There service was so amazing and they were so nice that this hotel could have literally been a dump with average food and I would come back just for the amazing service and people. I spent a good amount of time talking with Aydin about architecture and Sarah about skiing since I love both. We got along great and they know how to treat their guests. What an experience! I don't mean to ramble on but I didn't want to leave anything out about just how great an experience we had!

Thanks so much,

Sahana & Matt

Aydin has created opposite the Basilica of St John a perfect place to relax and socialize after a grueling but fascinating day at the ruins of Ephesus. The charm and comfort of the hotel is only one benefit you get from staying as Aydin is the man to know for helping you explore the area and beyond. Prepare for nights of good food and easy conversation with people from all over the world. Cheers to Aydin on fulfilling his visioin.
