Our second home is Selcuk. We have been twice now and had the pleasure of meeting the Ejders and dining at their restaurant. The meal was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection by Mrs Ejders while we were looked after by Memet and Hakan.
We wish them the very best as the family work hard and they produce fabulous meals.

We found Ejder through a write-up in the lonely planet turkey guide and we were not disappointed. It is located close to the Selcuk train station, where there are a series of cafes and restaurants. The area is feels mostly touristy but there are locals around as well. Just two doors down there were several tables of locals playing a game that resembled dominoes. Between locals and tourists, the area makes for fun people-watching.

Lonely planet recommended the meat platter, so my wife and I ordered that, along with some Turkish pizza. Both were fantastic. The chicken was probably the best meat on the platter, followed by the lamb chop, if you were thinking about ordering an individual platter. I ordered a glass of Raki (a local spirit) and the runner who delivered it took the time to fix it the way locals drink it, with an ice cube and a small amount of water. I accidentally spilled that drink a few minutes later, and they brought me a new one free of charge.

We had read that the Clinton family had visited during one of their trips to the region so we asked our waiter if it was true. It turned out our waiter had served the Clintons during their visit. He was extremely proud and excited to share the story with us.

Overall it just seemed like the staff was very caring, and not just looking to make a profit from tourists. As a result we had a wonderful experience and can't recommend enough.

One word of caution, there are a lot of stray cats roaming around that part of town. If stray cats are going to be a problem for you, I would recommend looking into indoor eating options.

Late lunch after a tour of Ephesus. Staff was very attentive and courteous. Food was great. Our only problem was that we got so full, we couldn't go back for dinner.
