“The best hotel in Bethlehem”

I have stayed in the hotel with my family a week ago where we have enjoyed our time to the max. The staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful, and the facilities of the hotel show the professionalism of the latter. The food is delicious and has lots of varieties each day.
It was really worth staying there specially with its special location. We are looking forward to staying again at this hotel specially when the pool is finalized.
Keep up the good work

Stayed 2 nights here in January. The hotel is perfectly acceptable. Hot showers, warm double bed, nice view down the hill. The location is both good and bad. It's right next to the main attraction (manger square and the old city), but not to much else. There aren't a lot of restaurants once you've had Afteem (the best falafel anywhere). The service was ok at the desk, although finding a bartender to actually serve us a drink at the lounge proved not possible. The rooms need a little tidying. We didn't pay a lot, but I feel like better value could be found elsewhere. This hotel seems like it was brand new and they stopped finishing it when they got 95% done.

Running a hotel in Bethlehem must be tough. The Manger Square Hotel has many advantages; the greatest being the easy access to Manager Square, so you can go to the Grotto at the Nativity Church early morning or late afternoon and miss the queues and crowds. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious (large walk in showers but no baths) and the public areas are very 5 star. Food and service is 4 star but so are the prices, so the value is good. The staff are friendly. It's got to be the best in Town.

Room Tip: Avoid the side overlooking the street if you can.

Stayed 2 nights there. Looks
Can be deceiving. Good presentation but alot needs improvement. The room needs to be cleaned properly. The back of the tables were dirty, a chipped vase was still on display in our room 859. The base of the basin tap was filthy as was the shower curtain. And the bath towels were old and grey.
To top it off, the wi fi went off on the 2nd night. Calls to Operator went unanswered.
Only positive is its convenient location. The church of nativity is just across the road.

Most people don't look for safety hazards when they are on vacation, but the ones found here just jumped out at us:

The exit doors to the emergency stairways had no lever or handle and could not be opened. I wondered if there really were emergency stairs on the other side.

There are long dead-end corridors without exits at the far end. People staying in rooms in the long hallways could get trapped in their rooms if there was a fire or other blockage in the hall.

Hot water is very sporadic. Cold showers are the norm. The water pressure is barely there and is insufficient to fight a fire.

Lighting was dim in most bedrooms and hallways. Electric outlets did not always work. There were trip hazards in the hallways such as steps that jut into someone's doorway. The ramps in the hallway are too steep for wheelchair use.

The pool on the ninth floor does not look supported very well from the eighth floor. Good thing it was empty!

There is a skylight on the ground next to the pool on the ninth floor. It doesn't have any railing around it to keep people off and falling through it, should it break. Besides that, there is a roof over the skylight. This makes no sense.

Most of the stairs in this one-year-old building do not have handrails. Neither do the showers.

These are not safety issues, but annoyances:
Everything in the bathroom was loose, from the toilet seat that slid around while in use to towel racks and hair dryer holder.

The self-serve food in the lower level is basically the same every morning.

The rooms on the street side face a minaret. This is great only if you like to be woken at 5am for prayer.

The lighting in the bedrooms is below eye level (standing up). The upper half of the room is dark. I was afraid to take anything out of my suitcase since I might not find it when time to pack up.

Parking is advertised as free, but I never saw any lot. It may be a few blocks away.

There was a safe in the bedroom but no directions on how to use it.

The only reason we stayed here was because it was booked by our tour group. I don't even know why they picked this place, unless it was for the number of rooms since we had a large group. The Church of the Nativity was the only thing we saw in Bethlehem. Most of the tour took place in Jerusalem and it would have made more sense for us to stay there.

Room Tip: To get a good room, go to another hotel. (We had our room changed but it was almost as bad as the f...

I stayed two nights in the Manger Square Hotel which is located very close to the Church of the Nativity. My room, which was on the 9th floor of the hotel, was quite noisy because it faced the street below.

My room, which was quite large, had a comfortable king-size bed with six pillows (two of them for decoration), a flat-screen TV with multiple channels, a writing desk, and a self-serve coffee/tea set.

The bathroom lacked a bathtub, but it did have a shower, sink, commode and the usual amenities such as super tiny soaps (please bring your own soap), shampoo and body lotion (just 2 small packets of each).

Both the bedroom and bathroom were quite clean, but the room itself was dark even with all the lamps and lights lit up, so maybe the room would be more attractive to honeymooners.

The hotel offered free WiFi, but it didn’t work in my room, so I went downstairs to the Reception desk, where the guy working there fixed it. But it worked only one time in my room, but after some hard work and a lot of time, I finally managed to get the computer operating.

I had dinner at the hotel. It was quite a good buffet with good food. However, there were only two dessert dishes, which was all right with me.

I also had breakfast at the hotel. Unfortunately, breakfast provided “slime pickings” compared to the other hotel in which I’ve stayed in Israel and Palestine. A variety of salads, almost no fruit, processed cheese, stale bread, hard-boiled eggs, greasy fried eggs, scrambled eggs (served very late), three different cereals, coffee or tea.

Room Tip: Get a room that does NOT overlook the busy street below.

Stayed at the Manger Hotel for 10 days while staying in Bethlehem during November. It is ideally situated to many sites and within walking distance to the Church of the Nativity and a safe area to wander the many shops in the Square and beyond. The rooms are large with modern fittings. WiFi worked well in all areas of the hotel. I attended a Conference at the hotel as well and found the staff and food to be excellent. The only downside was during busy times the hot water didn't work efficiently. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Manger Square Hotel again.

Room Tip: Request a room on the opposite side of the building from the Square. Moslem call to prayer at 4.30a...
