“once again great value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 November 2009

Stayed here again for the second time. Nothing changed, still great value for money. Good quality food and choice both for breakfast and dinner. Rooms are a fair size and clean. They even had a good musician on Saturday evening, so good he got the people dancing. I will definately go back next year.

The lobby and restaurant of this hotel are very nice, but the rooms are a bit shabby. Old bedspread, old bathroom, old TV, food on the floor from the last guest. Liveable but I wouldn't spend more than one night there.

Okay location - can walk to a beach and there is a supermarket nearby. Not too many decent restaurants within close walking distance though, aside from those in the big resort hotels.

I chose this hotel because of the price and the reviews on the location, etc. It's not anywhere near the center of Eilat, tourist areas or locals, if you want to be off the beaten path. The lobby is lovely and new, fresh, clean. Overall, it's not a bad place. However, we arrived late in the evening after a long drive and when we got our room we just unpacked and hit the hay. The next day we were just getting used to the hotel and the town, and after I had some time in the room I knew it was a mistake to keep it. But we were too lazy to ask for another room and move all our stuff. So, here's my story: We got a room on the first floor facing N, or to the parking lot, which faces a currently quiet construction site. We have zero view. It is ugly. If we keep the curtains open to let in the sunlight and wake up, then all the bright lights from either the airport or the border light up the room. The worst part about the view is that at this time there was a very strong wind coming in off the desert. I mean, strong enough to make me think someone was playing loud music all night long. Impossible to open the windows. If they ever start up the construction next door, this entire side of the building will be awful. So, if you do stay here, make sure that you are facing the beach. Apart from that, the room is very, very small and cramped. Reminded me of the Comfort Inn Central Park in NYC. Yes, the shower is great, but bathroom very cramped too. LIke on a ship. YOu have to either bring your own coffee, tea, etc, or pay for it (in the room). There's a kettle, one electrical outlet. I found the location to be too far to just jump out and go to a restaurant. If I came back again, I'd look for a hotel right in the town of Eilat, and not out where the hotels are. Also, the carpet in the room felt dusty. The pool closes at 6:00. So if you go on a tour of Petra and want to relax and cool off in it you are out of luck. This hotel is OK. Just OK. Oh the upside, they have a bartender who is Indian and makes a good cocktail and is very nice (as are most of the staff). We booked our Petra tour at the desk in the lobby and were quite happy with it. Meals are buffet only and pretty good.

The Vista Hotel in Eilat has a perfect location of a few minutes' walk to the beach, but not right in the middle of all the hush and puff of the Eilat promenade. Another benefit of its location is that you hardly hear the planes at the Eilat airport.
The hotel is clean, neat, simple and efficient. The room was very comfortable with lots of natural light. Food (breakfast & dinner) was very good, even a bit of a surprise.
The Vista Hotel is the perfect place to stay in Eilat if you're looking for a clean and comfortable bed, clean and hot shower and a satisfying meal after a day out.
I highly recommend the Vista Hotel in Eilat. I'm sure your stay there will be a good one.

This hotel is excellent value for the money. It was one of the cheapest hotels in Eilat, but it was very nice in every way. The lobby was beautiful, the room was nice with comfortable beds and excellent water pressure in the shower (somewhat important for). The location is very good too since it was within 2 minutes walking distance of all the other much more expensive hotels in the "hotels area" of Eilat. The breakfast was a standard buffet, and the food was very good. If I ever come back to Eilat, I will definitely keep this hotel in mind.

I stayed one night at the Vista on my way to Petra and found it very satisfactory. While the staff could not answer questions as to why I was having problems accessing the Internet, they were courteous and helpful in all other questions.

Except for the perfumery spray that they seem to spritz into your room (to cover up what smell?) the room was very nice. Nothing fancy, but the window opened (I liked that) and everything was clean and in order.

Breakfast buffet was very good with a wide choice and pleasant seating. I also had the dinner buffet in the hotel, which turned out to be excellent. There were many choices for vegetarians including a wonderful lentil and rice combination.

My only problem is having to pay for Internet - and in the case of the Vista - having difficulty receiving the signal reliably. Also one had to sit in the lobby which is inconvenient.

The location of the Vista is quite good - walking distance to the Promenade, the beach and the Kings's City. By the way, skip King's city unless you have kids under 10 that are utterly bored. It was so cheesy!!

  • Liked — dinner buffet
  • Disliked — room reeked of perfume spray

We stayed 2 nights at the Vista in Eilat last weekend, and on the spot decided to return for 3 nights this coming weekend).

This is a small/medium size hotel, located about 3 blocks (5–7 minutes' walk) from the tayelet (boardwalk) and beach. The hotel was renovated last year, and is clean and attractive, with comfortable lobby seating and a cozy snack bar. The modest-sized, narrow pool runs alongside the lobby and restaurant, and is distinguished by a waterfall.

Our standard guest room was adequate in size, though hardly spacious. It held a double bed, a settee that unfolds to a single bed, a narrow counter to hold personal effects, a small dresser (TV on top), and a counter/desk with a tea kettle and a mini-fridge underneath. Standard rooms do not have balconies.

There is no desk chair, and no in-room Internet, so don't expect to get much work done in the room. (There is WiFi in the lobby and restaurant).

The bathroom also is just big enough, and the shower was comfortable and strong.

The hotel breakfast was quite satisfactory. It included a wide variety of fresh salads, vegetables, fruits, yogurts, and cheeses; several cold cereals; hot eggs, souffles, pancakes, burekas, and other hot-tray items; pastries; and except on Jewish holidays, made-to-order omelettes. We did not eat any other meals in the hotel.

We did not have many special requests, but the service we received was always courteous and efficient.

My only complaints were: (1) The bottom sheet was a bit too small for the mattress; as it barely fitted over the mattress, it occasionally slipped off to expose the mattress. (2) The railings had broken off the small shelves on the fridge door, so nothing could be stored on them.

Overall, we were quite pleased with the Vista Hotel. It represents very good value in its price range.

  • Liked — Clean and comfortable
  • Disliked — Small bed sheeet
