“An enjoyable and interesting way to spend an afternoon for animal lovers”

Haifa Educational Zoo
Reviewed 13 January 2014 via mobile

It's great for spending an afternoon with the kids.
Take under considiration that the zoo is very big and built on a mountain. small children get tired from walking especially up hills. There's a special viehcle that can take you from place to place but it costs money and then you might miss seeing some animlas

It's the second time I've been in this zoo. The first time we didn't really like it, cause we were with toddlers in strollers and it's not very convenient, as the zoo goes up and down the hill. But now, when the kids are more grown, it's really fun.
There were not a lot of people, we got to see all the animals in there, got to pet them in petting zoo and even hold a python. In the entrance to the zoo there is a playground and a carousel, so when we left, kids got to play also.
All in all, lots of fun! Don't know about the food in the zoo, we took our own snacks. Also, it's not very expensive.

Located in the Carmel, just about across Dan Panorama, nice little zoo. If kids need some things of interest for them, nice little zoo. Main attraction is Bengali Tiger! Very impressive. Other cages and displays well done so can easily see and enjoy the different animals. If in area, this zoo not far from the Bahai Gardens. Can also reach by using the Carmelite. Nice playground outside and if kids like mary go ground you will find one here as well. My 7 year old grandson loved it and very excited to see all the animals.

OK, so this isn't the biggest zoo in the world, I get that, but hey - it does not claim to be one.
Instead, it's a gorgeous city zoo, with numerous animals in well kept cages.
Being an educational zoo, there's an abundance of information about the animals, their habitats etc.
Don't miss the lovely petting area.
Unfortunately, the zoo is not operational on Saturday, but it is open on Sun-Fri.
highly recommended while in Haifa, especially if you're travelling with kids.

In the centre of Carmel Centre is a zoo! Yes, it really is surprising and the area it covers is not vast. Not too much walking, but it is on a hill, walking up on a hot day requires mental fortitude :)
Nice variety of animals including White tigers, snakes, monkeys and bears. A museum with a number of Taxidermist exhibits is included. There is a kiosk for ices, drinks and other kiddy delights.
As you come out (or go in) there is a play area where kids (up to about 8) can let off steam.
