My boyfriend booked us two nights at 'Bikta Bamata' in May as a birthday surprise. I couldn't be happier! It's a wooden cabin located deep inside an avocado and banana groves. As you walk through the path to the cabin you feel as if you're entering another world. That was truly a great escape from our daily life.
As we arrived, the owners – Hasi and Dudi, greeted us and made sure we would feel comfortable at all times. We had a passion fruit liqueur and a bowl with fresh fruits in our room – all free of charge – that was a very nice touch! The cabin itself was beautifully designed by Hasi, an artist, and has this quilt-themed look. We really loved it, it fitted perfectly with the wooden walls and trees outside the windows… it really makes you feel creative!
The cabin had everything we needed and much more. There's a very well equipped kitchenette, with mini-fridge, coffee and tea making facilities (cookies and fresh milk included!), microwave and electric mini stove. There's a big porch so we could sit outside, surrounded by the avocado trees and drink our morning coffee, or just lay back and relax on the heavenly hammock.
The Jacuzzi was huge! There were candles and incenses that were free to use, and a nice stereo system in which we played some music, so we had a very calm and romantic atmosphere. The bed is queen size, as comfortable as can be, with high standard linen – so pampering! Also, shower facilities and toiletries such as shampoo, hair conditioner and body soap were provided. There were satellite TV with varied channels and a DVD player, but we hardly used them, as there's so much to see and do.
We've ordered breakfast, which was well worth what we paid for. And most of all, it was very private! So, I think there's just everything you could ask for.
It's located in the picturesque little village of Bustan Hagalil, about five minutes drive away from Acre (aka Akko), and in walking distance to the sea. It's a nature reserve seashore so you can't swim, but we did had a lovely picnic there and afterwards we just had to do the cliché stroll by the sea, as the sun sets over Acre and Haifa… it was absolutely amazing.
Also, we could quickly get to the lovely Old City of Acre, where we went couple of times to wander around or eat at a nice restaurant recommended by Hasi.
There is a dairy farm in place which we thought was magnificent. There's hardly any smell, and when we took a walk around there, Dudi gave us some kind of a guided tour which was very interesting! Hasi's studio is just a step from there, so we went in to take a look at some of her works as well – all hand-made quilts, so unique and beautiful! I even bought myself a cute little bag.
All in all, we had a wonderful stay. The location was great. It does seem that the owners thought about every little detail. We'll defiantly come back!
