“Absolutely wonderful!”
Reviewed 8 September 2013

My boyfriend booked us two nights at 'Bikta Bamata' in May as a birthday surprise. I couldn't be happier! It's a wooden cabin located deep inside an avocado and banana groves. As you walk through the path to the cabin you feel as if you're entering another world. That was truly a great escape from our daily life.

As we arrived, the owners – Hasi and Dudi, greeted us and made sure we would feel comfortable at all times. We had a passion fruit liqueur and a bowl with fresh fruits in our room – all free of charge – that was a very nice touch! The cabin itself was beautifully designed by Hasi, an artist, and has this quilt-themed look. We really loved it, it fitted perfectly with the wooden walls and trees outside the windows… it really makes you feel creative!

The cabin had everything we needed and much more. There's a very well equipped kitchenette, with mini-fridge, coffee and tea making facilities (cookies and fresh milk included!), microwave and electric mini stove. There's a big porch so we could sit outside, surrounded by the avocado trees and drink our morning coffee, or just lay back and relax on the heavenly hammock.
The Jacuzzi was huge! There were candles and incenses that were free to use, and a nice stereo system in which we played some music, so we had a very calm and romantic atmosphere. The bed is queen size, as comfortable as can be, with high standard linen – so pampering! Also, shower facilities and toiletries such as shampoo, hair conditioner and body soap were provided. There were satellite TV with varied channels and a DVD player, but we hardly used them, as there's so much to see and do.
We've ordered breakfast, which was well worth what we paid for. And most of all, it was very private! So, I think there's just everything you could ask for.

It's located in the picturesque little village of Bustan Hagalil, about five minutes drive away from Acre (aka Akko), and in walking distance to the sea. It's a nature reserve seashore so you can't swim, but we did had a lovely picnic there and afterwards we just had to do the cliché stroll by the sea, as the sun sets over Acre and Haifa… it was absolutely amazing.
Also, we could quickly get to the lovely Old City of Acre, where we went couple of times to wander around or eat at a nice restaurant recommended by Hasi.

There is a dairy farm in place which we thought was magnificent. There's hardly any smell, and when we took a walk around there, Dudi gave us some kind of a guided tour which was very interesting! Hasi's studio is just a step from there, so we went in to take a look at some of her works as well – all hand-made quilts, so unique and beautiful! I even bought myself a cute little bag.

All in all, we had a wonderful stay. The location was great. It does seem that the owners thought about every little detail. We'll defiantly come back!

We stayed for one night at "Bikta Bamata". It's a beautiful zimmer in a quiet and relaxed place, with many avocado trees around. Inside - a very nice big Jacuzzi, a fully equipped kitchen and living room, beautiful hand made quilt (made by the owner - Hassi), a great bedroom. It's located at "Bustan Hagalil" in Western Galilee. Very recommended for couples and family. enjoy!

This was our second stay at Bikta BaMata - we had previously stayed there a year prior, and while we were traveling around northern Israel this time around, we decided to stay there again.

It was just as we remembered it: the entrance is very unassuming, and a bit hard to find (if you don't speak Hebrew), with the parking area next to the dairy (same smell) - but here's the best part. Once you cross the threshold, you are led into an avocado grove - which is like a different world; a quiet, peaceful world of birds and trees. The outside ceases to exist, for some reason...

There are two houses - we asked to stay in the same one we had been in a year prior. We've stayed at a few "zimmers" in Israel before, all with the same log cabin motif. What sets this one apart is a few aspect: the porch on the one room has the most magnificent hammock, which is almost like dying and going to heaven. So peaceful...(the owner, Chasi, had informed us that the other room was also going to get a porch hammock, due to the popular demand...) The second wonderful thing is the GIANT indoor jacuzzi, adjacent to the lower area. Can easily fit 2 people with extra room, the previous time we fit 3...And of course last but not least, the (queen size) bed was fantastically comfortable, with AC to make the stay even better. There is a second bedroom downstairs if you bring more people.

Of note: the Israel train line runs about a kilometer away, so every 15-20 minutes or so if you're on the porch you'll hear this "wooshing" sound...barely audible indoors.

The other fantastic aspect about our stay was the breakfast (which was well worth the extra money) - a huge variety of local cheeses and yogurts, fresh baked bread and pastry, vegetables, jams, fresh olives - and of course, avocados from the grove...a real treat - do NOT skip out on this! Couple this when eating it on the aforementioned fantastic porch...

Would go back in a heartbeat...
