“Nice people and very nice room. Neighbourhood was a little iffy”
Reviewed 11 August 2014 via mobile

We checked in, and after looking around the area we were in, did not expect much. However in the end the hotel really impressed us. Our room was amazing and very clean and comfortable. Nice sized television and balcony, and also an amazing rooftop to see the whole Haifa Bay.

The staff were very friendly and offered tips and information on where to eat and visit.

Would stay here again for sure.

A group of six of us stayed here in June of summer 2014. We hostel-hopped all around Israel and the West Bank, and had a fantastic experience at this hostel in particular - the staff was the most helpful of any that we came across. They were extremely accommodating, more than they needed to be as we had to change our reservation the day we arrived, and had great recommendations (good for us as we arrived on a Jewish holiday and many things were closed). The hostel is quiet and clean, and the rooftop is a fantastic and beautiful place to hang out and meet other travelers if you like. We were very happy with them.

When we got to the neighborhood, we were a bit underwhelmed. It wasn't as clean, new and vibrant as other sections we'd driven through. We consulted the internet for facts on crime rates, etc, deemed it safe and set about finding a parking spot.

After dragging our suitcase to the hotel, we were met by an extremely friendly man who barely spoke English but was a joy to try to communicate with. Despite the language barrier, he did a thorough job getting us set up and getting us to our room. We were in for a surprise! The room was spectacular - a huge bed with a single bed as well. Very clean, uniquely decorated and the bathroom was great! There were informative packets on what to do, maps to get around, etc. We visited the German Colony that night then headed back for a restful sleep - we needed it for the following day of climbing in Carmel Mountains.

We left early and found a different neighborhood! Vibrant, bustling and friendly. The Shabbat had closed everything down and taken people away... turns out it's a really lovely place!

Highly recommend for price, location, and customer service. The only downside was the parking. After driving down one way roads for ages trying to figure it out, we just parked on the side street by the hotel and found it worked just fine.

The hotel is situated in walking distance from the center of the town. The lady at the reception (owner?) was very helpful and gave us advice on our visit. The hotel seems to be quite old has very peculiar decoration all over. However our room was quite spacious with a kitchen an a bathroom. The terrace on the roof offers nice view of the harbor in case of good weather.

After spending a few nights in hostels which were pretty average when we got to Loui Hotel it was like stepping into a world class hotel. Staff at reception where very friendly and eager to help and make sure we were settled and acquainted with the area.

We chose the Hotel over the Hostel as we wanted a double room en suite and the price difference wasn't that much. The look and feel of the place show that they are invested and want to ensure you have a pleasant stay. During our tour of the place we also walked through the Hostel to see the roof terrace which is lovely but the Hostel also looked neat, clean and well looked after.

The location is great with walking distance to most places nearby and easy access to public transport.

I would recommend this to everyone and if I was in the area again I would definitely stay there again... Great value for money and best place I stayed at on this trip.

Hi Guys,

I am Alvite from India, who stayed at this hotel for two nights (23 May-24 May) during my conference at the Haifa University. I really had a great time in Loui, with all the friendly staffs. The rooms are spick-and-span, and they are worth paying for. Moreover, the location is very convenient as it is easy to get an access to the other parts of Haifa city. What I like the most is the calm and peaceful locality of the hotel. Louis will always be a choice whenever I come to Haifa next, and of course I will recommend this hotel to my other friends as well... Keep up the good work guys... You guys are really good...

Best Wishes from India!

We booked a night at Loui at 6 p.m. on a Thursday, and had a pleasant stay that exceeded our expectations. The rooms were spartan and clean - but we knew this wasn't a luxury hotel. The staff was very friendly and easy to communicate with despite my poor Hebrew school language skills. What makes this place special is its rooftop patio with a stellar view of Haifa - a lovely place to watch the sun set.

It's about a 15 minute walk from nightlife and restaurants in the evening, as the center/neighborhood shuts down after dark. Spend the night at Loui to explore the Bahai Gardens and walk up the Haifa Stairs!
