We celebrated our anniversary with friends at the Yaarot Hacarmel (Carmel Forest) Resort.
It was lovely. There is a wonderful pine fragrance that greets you as you enter and fills the air throughout the hotel. Our room was ready early so we were able to check in and enjoy.

In brief, the food as delicious as it looks. At every meal there are scrumptious buffets of salads, every type of seasonable vegetable and fruit, soups, spreads and homemade jams, freshly baked breads, cakes, and desserts. The friendly waiters serve a wide variety of main courses....the fish and the steaks were delicious.

The indoor pool is a delight....probably about 20 meters, perfectly heated and boasting a beautiful sun mosaic on the bottom! It was fun to see the sun smiling at me as I did my laps!
Adjoining the pool is the magical spa...countless rooms, attendants in white all arriving on the hour to invite the next people to come and enjoy. The Swedish massages were fabulous. I must say that the facial I had was disappointing. The attendant asked me too many questions about which creams I use and telling me what I should use. Not exactly a sales pitch but almost...not relaxing at all.

We went to an exercise class that was booked as being Tai Chi, Yoga and Pilates. It was a mish-mash of the 3 types of exercise...and it didn't work. It was a rigorous workout; at least half of the participants stopped working out before it was over. I suggest the resort re-evaluate this type of class and go for something more soothing and relaxing, perhaps Chi Qong or true Tai Chi.

I loved the tea bars, the beautiful lounges, and the magnificent setting.

Expensive but definitely worth it!

Room Tip: Ask about checking in early on Saturday morning and enjoy a full day. There is an extra charge but it's reasonable.

We stayed for two days at this resort with full board. The reception was somewhat slow because rather many guests arrived about the same time. The room was modest in size, pleasantly furnished. Unfortunately the walls between the rooms are too thin and one can hear the neighbours. The food was good, some dishes excellent. The staff was courteous and willing to help. We did not used the spa facilities. The location is splendid.

Service, spa treatments, gourmet food all made for a perfect getaway from a busy trip to Israel. The property is set in the middle of the Carmel Forest the views are breathtaking and can be enjoyed throughout the property whether you care to be inside or out. We look forward to returning again & again.

Just returned and was very disappointed. Started off with a bad "welcome" nobody at entrance and receptionist just stared as i staggered in with a large suitcase and other bags. My key was given to me with no direction about where room or lift was. The food was excellent but spoiled by the pushy guests who didn't know how to behave at a buffet. The massages were ok, the gym is tiny. classes were ok but very few of them. Guests wander around in bathrobes which for the most part was most unattractive. Although cell phones are meant to be banned everyone seemed to ignore the rule. Beds are very uncomfortable and duvets are filled with synthetic material which had a very downmarket feel. My back is still suffering! Overpriced for what it was, would not recommend. Although in good condition decor feels dated.

Hello Anna B,

I am disappointed to read your review and apologize for the oversight in service you felt you received. As we receive such high praise on the level of service and dedication guests receive from our staff and the quality of our bedding, both these matters will be passed onto management of the hotel for review.

You are correct in saying mobile phones are requested not to be used and our staff work very hard to ensure guests respect these rules.

Thank you for your review and happy travels.

Kind regards,

Hani Sand
