Our primary reason for visiting Haifa University was to see our daughter, who is studying there for a semester abroad. We spent time on the campus while she was in class, and were glad we did. The highlight is the Hecht Museum, which has an amazing collection of antiquities and art. We were there in the middle of a weekday, and had the museum to ourselves.
Our only complaint is that, despite signs all over the campus pointing to how to get to the museum, we couldn't find the entrance - it is off a large room in the student center. Once inside, however, we were impressed by the sleek, clean style, and the exhibit space. The descriptions of the exhibits are in English as well as Hebrew.
The rest of the campus is bustling with activity, and it is nice to see the variety of ethnicities that the students represent. Most buildings are open to the public, 'tho I'd caution that other than the museum, almost all signage is in Hebrew, so you may have to ask for directions.
