“Bustling, Multinational, Interesting”
Reviewed 2 April 2014

Our primary reason for visiting Haifa University was to see our daughter, who is studying there for a semester abroad. We spent time on the campus while she was in class, and were glad we did. The highlight is the Hecht Museum, which has an amazing collection of antiquities and art. We were there in the middle of a weekday, and had the museum to ourselves.

Our only complaint is that, despite signs all over the campus pointing to how to get to the museum, we couldn't find the entrance - it is off a large room in the student center. Once inside, however, we were impressed by the sleek, clean style, and the exhibit space. The descriptions of the exhibits are in English as well as Hebrew.

The rest of the campus is bustling with activity, and it is nice to see the variety of ethnicities that the students represent. Most buildings are open to the public, 'tho I'd caution that other than the museum, almost all signage is in Hebrew, so you may have to ask for directions.

“Gorgeous panorama”
Reviewed 11 January 2014

I now study and live in the University of Haifa. I could choose to live in the city but the University and its dormitory are perched on top of Mount Carmel, offering us a magnificent view and the highest panoramic point of the city!

If you come to hike in the Carmel National Park on a day the University is open, treat yourself with a tour of the last floor of the Eshkol Tower. From there, enjoy an almost 360 degree panoramic view of Haifa: it is simply incredible!!!

And of course enjoy your hike in the Carmel Park, surrounded by pine trees and looking at the Mediterranean sea...

Actually nothing to see there except of a lot of arabian students. The forest around is much more attractive.
