I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights/days and all of them were amazing. rooms are big and tidy, very nicely decorated, one feels a bit special and spoilt. This is a beautiful hotel with a beautiful lobby, on a beautiful location (next to big park), overseeing the city and industrial plant (nice lights in the evening!)
Breakfast is a treat with blue cheese from Galilea, cookies, cakes, salads... all served in a lovely garden.
Hotel is close (10 mins walking) to German colony and this is a place to go if one wants an amazing meal: any restaurant will do!!
Also, there are (free) parking spots next to the hotel.
totally recommend!!!

Great location in Hadar, midway between seaport and Carmel, couple of blocks from Carmelite train with stations up to the mercaz Carmel (center of Carmel). Not far from Bahai temple & sculpture garden.
Hotel building itself is renovated preserved historic site , very boutique-like, impressive entrance through gates, convenient study/ library/computer room next to entrance & front desk....somewhat helpful concierge, polite though not overly warm & welcoming....
Very nice but small room (huge bed takes up most of space), comfy, clean, balcony facing busy street,
Electricity only works upon entering room with your keycard inserted in slot - so room like a sauna until ac has time to cool it down....
elaborate buffet breakfast - wonderful array of salads & breakfast foods, omelettes available if requested, nice garden area for seating....
same area used for happy hour- yummy snacks & drinks though they don't allow you to take a plate back up to your room (silly rule).
bottom line.....safe, lovely , accommodating boutique hotel ...a bit pricey - $150/night - but a good experience.

The hotel is wonderful the location and proximity to public transport great the rooms were great and the happy hour, offering wine snacks and complimentary massages a great touch. However..... The front desk service left a huge room for improvement not only was there no service the attitude was appalling. In all the years we have been traveling and hotels we have stayed in we have never had our credit card debited on checkin and then had big fight with exceedingly rude front desk manager
Hotel I'll give 4 stars but management zero

A lot of people have described this hotel as a gem, and a hidden gem it is!! Everything is great about this place from the moment you enter, the decor, the facilities, service, quality of room, bathroom, bed, location, buffet breakfast. There is absolutely NOTHING which I could describe as just 'good' or 'avarage'. This really is a fabulous little boutique hotel. I wish a hotel like this could be found in Jerusalem (I am not aware of one). Do yourself a favour and stay at this lovely beautiful place. And many thanks to Pavel at the reception who was very helpful and kind. ...

Of the 5 hotels my family of four stayed in during our recent trip to Israel, this was the loveliest. I understood the meaning of "boutique hotel" after this stay. It's clear much effort went into the décor of the rooms and dining area. The rooms, bed, linens were very plush. Despite our rooms being on the small side, they felt 5*. We were a family of four and ended up with 2 non connecting rooms. This was not an issue as our rooms were immediately next door to each other.

The breakfast buffet was lovely and delicious as well. The dining room itself is pretty with lots of natural sunlight.

While I wasn't sure I loved the location of this hotel (I'm not at all familiar with the Haifa neighborhoods) - per the desk clerk the main area of restaurants was only a 15min walk With the millions of small side streets, our 15min turned into an hour. Because it was already 9pm and our children were tired from the day's touring, this was the only downside to our stay. It could be the desk clerk wasn't specific enough or we didn't listen well enough. We ended up finding a wonderful restaurant and took a taxi back to the hotel.

This is a lovely hotel.

I neglected to review this hotel that we stayed in for several nights last August of 2013, I did notice the Travelers Choice award so I assume that some of these problems were resolved. The female desk clerk was very weak in english and not familiar with the area. I asked for directions to a local favorite restaurant and was unable to ascertain directions either there or to other attrractions.. It should be noted that the location of this hotel is very convenient although walking in the rear of the hotel towards the harbor area was not good at all. The lighting, neighborhood and very old stairways were not a good route at night and I was told this by several locals. Being from N.Y. I am used to this and well aware. Lastly, while cleaning my room they left my door unlocked when finished and did not do the bathroom. I called the manager and notified him of this error and he apologized. The good news was the garden, eating area and hotel itself was very nice.

Room Tip: facing the park on the side with a terrace.

stayed on friday.

hotel and staff - the building and its public areas were beautifully restored with a european elegance. the style is classic european - ornate and warm. wouldn't shame any 4-5 star boutique hotel in paris.
only encountered a few hotel staff and they were affable.

rooms - the room we were in (standard room) was average/small size, but thats common in israel. the rooms are styled in the same way that the whole hotel is - beautifully decorated with a blue/white palette and european furnishings. the bed is very comfortable. has everything you need and some extra amenities - the rooms has a big lcd tv and ipod speaker/radio. there is good wi-fi reception at the rooms - its also free.
some rooms have a great view of either the mountain side - the city slopes, or the harbour side - amazing.

location - great location. 15-20 minute walking distance to the german colony. 15 minute walk to the up and coming port area (with galleries and small artists shops). there are a few shops and restaurants around the hotel that are open 24/7. good public transportation around the hotel - like the CARMELIT (haifa "metro") that has a stop a few steps from the hotel and takes you up to the top of mount carmel where the bahai temple top entrance is.

breakfast - the breakfast was a let down. considering how high-class the other aspects are, i expected more. the bread selection was small - most was dry and cold. no toaster (probably because of the SHABATH but who cares, they should find a solution - i don't pay less on friday so i shouldn't be served less). other than bread, there are 2-3 types of cornflakes (the one we had was not fresh), some vegetables, 2 standard salads (chopped and greens), 2 cakes, some cheeses that were the only highlight of the breakfast, hard-boiled eggs and some spreads. the breakfast is not boutique.
in addition, the buffet was not well maintained -could be cleaner. that the only reason for the 4 stars.

other - free wi-fi around the hotel.
there is also a beautiful trendy lounge where every day at the evening there is a "happy hour" where some snacks and drinks are served including wine - all free. great thing.

overall - very well kept hotel in a great location to explore haifa. the only room for improvement is the breakfast.

Room Tip: ask for the rooms with view of the harbour or the city slopes on the higher floors. don't skip...
