The Muhraqa monastery hangs over one of Mount Carmel’s peaks. Muhraqa monastery is close to the location where Elijah challenged the pagan priests and proved Gods power. It is worth visiting even only for the panoramic view from the terrace, of Jezreel Valley, Nazareth, Mt. Tabor, Mt. Gilboa, Samaria and to Hadera on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea.
Visiting hours: 09:00-12:00 and 13:00-17:00 for a small entance fees (last time 5 NIS per person)
The place is surrounded with forests which are perfect place for short hikes and for picnics. In Spring (March) one can enjoy many wild flowers.
