Returned here on a return trip to Palestine after a 4 year absence. Was not disappointed. Food was excellent, really fresh, tasty and well presented. Service was attentive and overall this is one of the best value restaurants in Jerusalem.

This restaurant has been a favorite for some time. Located near route 1 in East Jerusalem, it is one of the best restaurants in that part of the city, and a gem that many people should seek out and discover. We recently went there and ordered the chicken curry, stuffed mushrooms and chicken cordon bleu. All the dishes were large portions and well spiced. The chicken was moist and tender. The mushrooms were a slight disappointment, for the price, it is a small dish. Better to go with the stuffed chilis (spicy!) or another starter. The restaurant is well appointed, has a smoking section and is located in an old building with stone walls. The waitstaff is friendly and attentive and it has an intimate feel.

I love this place. Firstly, because it's close to the hotel that I usually stay in when I'm in Jerusalem. But mainly because the standard of the food is always high, the service is precise but friendly, and it's not stuffy or pretentious. My favourites are the Green Wheat Soup, the perfectly cooked tuna steak for 85NIS, and among the most expensive (and most tasty) is the excellent Askadinya Beef Fillet for 119NIS (cooked with hot chillis and garlic!). The menu includes things like pasta and even a pizza, as well as Mediterranean/Arabic cuisine. And the choice of sitting at the bar, in the main restaurant, outside on the rear terrace in summer, or in the cosy side room.

With 3 different types of seating, including a summer patio, you can easily find the ambiance that best suits you.

I hadn't been to Askadinya in quite a few years, and I was pleasantly surprised. We had fresh salads, nicely flavored main courses, and a pleasant staff that even with a full restaurant seemed to be well on top of things.

The food is a fusion of Italian & Oriental, with plenty of choices [chicken, fish/seafood, meat, and even some dishes for vegetarians.]

A very cosy pleasant restaurant with a lot to offer. The service was polite and professional and the quality of food is worth every penny. The way list is very rich and the other drinks on the bar are of high quality. I recommend this restaurant to all dinners.
