Harmony Hotel Jerusalem - an Atlas Boutique Hotel
Ranked #11 of 102 Hotels in Jerusalem
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 20 May 2009

I happened upon the Harmony by walking into the Cinema hotel in Tel Aviv, picking up a brochure and discovering that the same Israeli hotel group (Atlas) also had a hotel in Jerusalem. I checked out the Harmony on Trip Advisor and my verdict is that the very positive reviews of this hotel on TA are on the money.

The Harmony is one of the new breed of city hotels, purpose built, very modern, funky decor, smallish room with good plumbing, no restaurant, breakfast only. For me the big difference with the Harmony is the really exceptionally warm atmosphere created by all the front of house staff whose default answer to any request thrown at them is 'yes'. They really could not have been more helpful or pleasant. This sort of culture and great service must come down from the top so very well done Ms Harmony Manager. Location is perfect, which in Jerusalem right now is extremely important because Jerusalem's roads are paralysed by the construction of a new light railway and lots of other heavy duty construction. The whole city resembles a building site so it is not that easy to get around by road. The Harmony is situated close to everything including the Old City and Western Wall (the cotel) which is within very pleasant and easy walking distance via the new open air Malmila luxury shopping Mall.

There are enough eateries and bars within walking distance so you never have to eat (or drink!) in the same place twice. The hotel buffet breakfast is fresh, tasty and extensive and again the atmosphere in the breakfast room is relaxed and friendly with guests of all ages and nationalities in evidence... and talking to each other! It really is a lovely vibe in there.

A few negatives were a very poor and inconsistent (but free) wi fi connection to my Iphone, an air conditioner that never got really cold, pretty thin towels and the beginnings of mould in the shower area. The poor wi fi especially came as a surprise as the guests seemed an IT savvy lot with laptops, Iphones etc in use throughout. I reckon that a lot of us had read about the Harmony on TA. I would gladly have paid for a better wi fi facility. With regard to the air con, some friends attending the same wedding were staying in a much larger and more expensive hotel (also listed on this site) where the central air con was turned off every night between midnight and 6am!

Please do not be put off by these niggles because this really is a lovely small(ish) hotel that is great value and well deserves all the praise it has received on this site.

At the risk of repeating many other reviewers I have to commend Harmony for setting new standards for hotels in its category in Israel. I have stayed in many hotels in Israel and Harmony is above and beyond anything I have seen in terms of service, especially by the front desk. The rooms, while small, are very comfortable and the location is fantastic. I stayed in a high floor and did not find the pedestrian mall below to be too noisy. For what you get the price was reasonable. I will definitely stay here again.

Nice new hotel in great location close to the old city and Ben Yehuda Mall. Hotel was clean and the staff were great. Breakfast very good and the evening reception with appies and wine was an added bonus. There is a landramat just around the corner from the hotel where you can either do your own laundry or leave it - the price was quite reasonable if you did your own laundry. There was lots of shops and great restaurant nearby. The hotel had a limited number of reserved parking spots at no cost.

The only down side was that our room was facing towards the pedestrian street and could tend to be noisy.

We only stayed in Harmony for one night after 4 days in another Hotel. Harmony was by far the better place and should have been our first choice. The Staff was very friendly and obliging. The room was excellent, the breakfast delicious and the atmosphere familial.

People don't realize how important location is in Jerusalem. If you've got your walking shoes on, you can walk anywhere from here, includinig the Old City, Ben Yehuda, Yemen Moshe, the Marketplace, the new Mall, etc. - This is a newer hotel with wonderful crew eager to please. Book directly with Atlas Hotels if you can to assure your room. The motif is black, white, red, and gray all over. The breakfast is very good, and the extra is wine, cookies, and small buffet at 5-7 p.m. so if you're on a budget, between the breakfast and the snack, you won't h ave to spend much on food. Rooms are under $200. The MANAGER, Ayala, will make sure you leave happy. I found in Israel, the beds are not always changed daily so the only neg. i would say is talk to the maids and they'll be eager to please.

We stayed at the Harmony when we were in Israel for our son's Bar Mitzvah. We had 9 rooms - they were all very comfortable and very clean. The breakfast is great - huge selection. We loved the lounge area to sit and relax in. They served "nibbles" between 5 and 7 daily. amazing. One of the best thing about this hotel is the location. And the amazingly friendly staff. Ask for Lilach,Esti or Rifka as they will help you with everything. Worth finding - even though the taxi drivers are not too sure exactly how to get there!!!!
We will stay there again the next time we are in Jerusalem.

This is a great hotel in an excellent location. Besides the friendly and helpful staff., the hotel is clean and always welcoming from a long day of shopping and touring. The breakfast are absolutely amazing and a great start to everyday. The snacks at night a nice way to begin the evening. I would highly recommend this hotel and am so glad I found this little jewel.
