The hotel is nice and clean. The rooms are not very big and not all of them have a balcony. Staff is friendly and do their best to accommodate you. There is a 5-10 minutes’ walk to the Old Town. The downside is that there is not much to do in the area when it comes to restaurants/cafes/bars.

PS: If you choose to stay here, a good option for getting around is the tram just behind the hotel, leaving every 5-10 minutes.

We´ve decided to stay at the Legacy after readings some reviews at TripAdvisor and else where. The highlights were the location and the restaurant. After staying here four nights I have to agree, the restaurant is great. Fantastic food.

But the hotel... it is a different story. The location is not what we´ve expected. For sure it is few blocks from the Old City, but nothing else. There is little else to do in the area.

But the worst is the service. In all aspects, included at the restaurant. It is below expectations. The waiters need more training and enthusiasm with their work. What is wrong guys???

I would recommend visitors to stay on the western side of town, good restaurants and good cafes.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with views to the Old City

Beautiful hotel. Friendly, helpful staff...they really extended themselves. Super comfortable beds. Clean. The breakfast was delicious and had a great view. There was off street parking. Easy walk to the old city.

Remodeled few years ago, this is a rather small but nice hotel with excellent service. Rooms are spacious and clean. Wifi throughout the hotel for free. The restaurant on the 5th floor has excellent views of the old city and the Mount of Olives. Menu is extensive and very good. There is a coffee shop on the ground floor/garden which is very nice to grab light appetizers/snacks. Excellent shishe (try the double apple)

Room Tip: Suggest that you choose a room facing East, i.e Mount of Olives.Westerly view is not that great!

Stayed here for two nights and chose the hotel based on location as we were in Jerusalem over shabbat and did not want to be in the new town area.

The rooms were very large and clean and had a complimentary fruit platter and water provided along with tea/coffee making facilities. Staff at check-in / check-out were friendly too.

The only couple of downsides was the fairly poor air conditioning (although this may have been on winter mode on a un-seasonally warm January weekend) and the two tier room layout that could catch you out in the middle of the night.

We ate both nights in the hotel restaurant on the fifth floor where the food was tasty and seemed to be pretty good value. There was not too many other dining options that appealed close by.

The hotel is just a five minute walk to The Garden Tomb, less than ten minutes to Damascus Gate to enter the old city. With the three bus stations close by access to Bethlehem, Ramallah etc is a doddle as would access to the Jerusalem Light Rail (albeit we never got a chance to try it due to shabbat).

I really am reviewing the restaurant, as we didn't get to stay here. We walked past this hotel almost every day during our trip to Jerusalem, and finally were able to go in for a late lunch. The dining room is on the 5th floor, with a beautiful view. My husband and I visited for lunch on our one "free day" of our tour. Excellent food and very nice service.

The common areas seemed very clean and well-maintained, and the hotel is within easy walking distance of the Damascus Gate in the old city. Also is located on a very narrow and quiet street, so I assume would be a quiet place to stay. I would try the Legacy Hotel out as a place to stay in Jerusalem.

We came here on a business trip recently and had a lovely experience. The staff was friendly, the beds were super comfortable, the rooms were nice and clean, the restaurant had good food with a great view, and the bar was fun. The location might throw people off because it's not in the Old City but it's pretty darn close. I liked that we had a quieter location away from all the tourists and everyone we met in the hotel were nice travelers.
We were also there during the terrible snowstorm and they were helpful in getting us the basic supplies we needed to venture outside. Very calm. I highly recommend for business travel, and for anyone who wants to stay away from the tourist crowd.
