“Bad Location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 November 2013

The hotel itself is not bad, the problem is the location! Away from it all, no shops or restaurants nearby. What is even worse on the day of Shabbat, which begins on Friday at dusk, when everything closes, public transport stops and you are dependent on taxis, which charge 25% more that day! You just get trapped inside the hotel! If you do not want to be exploited and bound to pay $ 45 for an average buffet at the hotel, so go to a supermarket before evening and buy some food to eat in the room.

costumer service depends on how full the hotel is . My agent booked me for one day instead of two and when in the morning i tried to extend my stay they were very unhelpful, they didn't even try to make believe to try to accommodate me and put me out in the street. I stayed there last and noticed the place is starting to slip in quality. the rooms are a little rundown, the fridge in the rooms just make enough noise for you to think its working (friend who stayed in next room had same complaint). The breakfast is still a big hit, but very downgraded from last year.no more choice of different breads, less variety of fish etc.

The garage was finally fixed over and actually quite pleasant (not the underground bunker it used to be.

All in all I had some disappointments but is still a nice place to stay.

Room Tip: ask for higher floor, nicer scenery lower floor noisy from wedding in ballrooms

Location close to Bus station, close to the ministeries and parlament, but if you are a tourist that want to stay near to the old city you have chosen a wrong hotel.
Very old hotel.not very clean this is why they abuse using spray for smell in stead of bether cleaning.
Food ok.
Internet very expensive.
If you choose Ramada Wings, it is much more worse than Ramada ROYAL

I spent 3 nights in this hotel and I can say this hotel is not worth the price. Rooms are old, not clean and not well maintened. Reception staff is unhelpful (especially female staff), food in the restaurant is really bad quality and there is no table service (there is only a self service restaurant but a 2 star hotel would be much better!!). Internet is NOT FREE and I think that's a scandal. The hall is very beautiful but the rest.... not really!!! Should I come back to Israel again, I would choose another accomodation!

I havent stayed here in several years. I do not remember it as a great hotel, but it was fine. Apparently, it has deteriorated. Staff is somewhat surly. They have an 'Internet' room in which you have to drop coins into a machine to get access, but none worked. They charge for WiFi access, and as soon as you ask for access codes, they try to sell you on the maximum option. Carpets are worn. Remains to be seen what awaits in the dining area and the bed. Unfortunately, I am stuck here until Wed.

Room Tip: Go elsewhere

I have stayed in this hotel in November 2013 for 2 night.

Hotel is very huge, but very dirty. Rooms are very dirty, furniture is used a lot.

Breakfast was very poor - only 1 type of cheese. But very huge selection of vegetables.

I was told that this was a good hotel but, sadly, it wasn't. It is old and tired and desperately in need of a facelift.
The bed was comfortable enough and the linen was clean but I got the feeling that Housekeeping really didn't care. Dirty coffee cups and used glasses remained on the bedside pedastal for 2 or 3 days until I complained. On the day that my bedding was changed, I came into the room in the evening to find the old bedding lying on the floor. There were holes in the curtains. There were bare wires coming out of the wall and trailing to the the back of the bedside pedastal where it was connected into the back of the console. Although tea/coffee facilities were provided, there were no teaspoons/stirrers, cups were made of paper, there was no creamer (yes, I know that the hotel can't provide milk). There was no plug in the washbasin and I had to waste water by shaving under a constantly running tap - terrified tha if I dropped my razor, it would disappear down the plug hole, never to be found again.
Food was OK but not great. Staff were grim and humourless. There was not a single smile in sight. On one night, I was appalled at the way staff cleared all the crockery and cutlery off my table while I was still sitting there as part of a group of 8. Te one staff member even passed a full tray of dirty dishes across the table, over our heads to a colleague who was standing behind us.
Prices in the souvenir shop were very high. (Yes, I know hotel shops are often expensive and I normally wouldn't shop in them, but when you are leading a group you have to check so that you can advise the group.)
In fairness, I must say that management met with me to see if they could clear up the problems and they most certainly did try. But the episode of the bedding on the floor happened the evening after I had spent a good hour and a half with them. I do not believe that the problem lies with management per se but their commitment to the hotel is certainly not filtering down to the staff working for them.
Would I use this hotel again? Most definitely not.
